Novus Tea
Novus Tea Master Blenders have looked beyond what exists in upscale tea today to create a unique product; capitalizing on the best features of each method, the cornerstone of our tea collection is innovation through a modern take on an ancient tradition.
Sapphire Earl Grey, Persian Pomegranate, Egyptian Mint, Citrus Camomile or Traditional English Breakfast Tea to name just a few - like a fine wine, each cup brings an exquisitely delicate and flavourful tea to the table – creating a delightfully satisfying and lasting impression. No expense was spared in bringing you the best of the best
The foundation of the Novustea is the use of whole leaf orthodox teas. Whole leaf tea allows you, our guest, to savour very distinct flavour nuances that cannot be appreciated with broken or fine cut teas. The combination of tea characteristics selected for these particular teas represents some of the most unique teas available worldwide.
Black Tea
English Breakfast Tea
This world class English Breakfast blend is far from ordinary; blended with delicate Ceylon, a gutsy Assam and rounded off with the tasty South Indian Tea. It is best described as full bodied, robust and rich in flavour.
Spiced Chai
This centuries-old beverage has played an important part in many of the world’s cultures. Best known from India, Chai is a blend of black tea and exotic spices. In this case, the ingredients are Assam from India, cloves and cinnamon from Sri Lanka and Cardamom from Central America. Intensively spicy with sweet tasting nuance of cardamom; served with milk and sugar, Chai offers an exceptionally well balanced tea of the finest quality that excites the senses without overwhelming the palate.
Sapphire Earl Grey
Novus blenders have carefully refined the traditional Earl Grey recipe, using only the pure Ceylon tea which provides more binding sites for retaining the distinguished flavour from oil of Italian Bergamot and Malva flowers. It is a full, round cup, very smooth with gentle natural bergamot flavour. This combination offers an “Ivory” type of bergamot taste – considered the most expensive, highest character of the various interpretations of Earl Grey Bergamot. Comes from Kandy, Sri Lanka (Ceylon) .
Decaffeinated Ceylon Kenilworth
Novus Kenilworth Ceylon comes from a tea estate located in the very exclusive and secluded highlands of Sri Lanka. Here, lush green mountains and majestic waterfalls provide the perfect growing conditions for tea that ranks among the greatest in the world for consistency in quality and character
Green Tea
Dragon Well Green Tea
Dragon Well is the most famous and popular type of tea in China. It takes its modern name Longjing or Lung Ching (already centuries old) from a water well that was reportedly inhabited and protected by a dragon, according to a local lore in Xihu, China. Dragon Well is hand processed, using the feel of the hand in regulating the fire, kneading and twirling the leaves. The result is a tender and fine dry leaf, with a smooth, subtle flavour nuance of apricot and nut – it is one of the best, most unique and intriguing green teas available. Comes from Hangzhou, China.
Pai Mu Tan White Tea
Also known as White Peony or White Tea, this premium grade green is the purest, least processed and most limited in availability of all teas. Pai Mu Tan is processed in the Ancient Chinese Tradition by expert hands that set out to select only the palest silvery-green downy buds and adjacent two leaves of a special varietal tea bush called Narcissus or Chaicha
Organic Jasmine Green Tea
For centuries, making Jasmine tea has meant gathering fresh jasmine blossoms in the early morning, before they’ve bloomed. When evening comes and the blossoms open their heavily scented petals, they are either placed beside or mixed in the green tea leaves. After several hours, the dry leaves absorb the sweet aroma, and the entire process is repeated until the desired amount of aroma and flavour is absorbed. Novus Jasmine tea is highly fragrant and deliciously floral. It’s made by gently scenting green tea leaves with fresh jasmine as they are drying.
Infusions
These are not actual teas, they are caffeine free herbs and/or fruits steeped in hot water. Usually taken straight.
Citrus Chamomile
Throughout the centuries, both Greek and Romans touted the calming therapeutic qualities of Chamomile. Novus Citrus Chamomile features hand sorted, whole chamomile, blended with the equally soothing and stress relieving properties of the lemongrass. Colourful flower petals of including calendula, malva, rose flowers and lemongrass add to the pleasant appeal of this blend providing a fresh, aromatic cup with the typical chamomile fragrance, and a taste that is well rounded with no bitter after taste.
Egyptian Mint
Dating back to the time of the Pharaohs, Novus Egyptian Mint is a hearty caffeine free peppermint tea characterized as refreshing, cooling and flavourful. Well rounded with no bitter after taste, this is perfect for cleansing the palate and re-energising the body.
Persian Pomegranate
This is a blend of the world’s cleanest herbs: hibiscus, apple, blackberry leaves, orange peel, liquorice, pomegranate and rose petals. Extremely fruity and flavoursome.
