The food is good but it's always packed Friday-Sunday or when there's an event going on nearby. With the beautiful outdoor space you'd think it would be dog friendly which is a pretty big bummer.
Tamale appetizer is a must! After years of hesitation, I finally tried the shady (spicy) style chicken fried. I suggest you do the same. You can get your gravy fix on the mashers.
After the very sub-par service and food, I'm very certain my only trip back will be for a cold beer on the patio on a nice day. That's about all it's good for.
Order the fried corn fritters. Not on the menu anymore (haven't been for at least a decade), but often they'll still make 'em if you ask real nice. And DAMN, those fritters are fucking delicioso!
