A smaller zoo that still offers quite a few things to see. Allow half a day to see the entire zoo, longer if you stay for shows or summer events. Brand new Africa exhibit opened recently.
I have grown up in Rochester and the zoo is always fun! Grounds are very clean and there are lots of animals to see! It's even great to visit in the winter!!
Excellent small zoo! Be sure to check out the new "Africa" exhibit with lions, elephants, goats, and more! Plus go "behind the scenes" of the primate exhibits with reptiles & meerkats (my fave)!
Our Summer Programs will start up on May 24! We have an array of exciting interpretive programs from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and are developed with visitors in mind: http://tinyurl.com/cey9cye
In 1893 the park opened to the public as a recreational park, but by 1894 the first animals were seen in the lower portion of the park, where guests could find birds, trout and deer.
Do NOT park on perimeter of lot- my car was broken into and zoostaff said "this happens all the time" - since then I make it a point to park in middle.
Experience the Seneca Park Zoo! Nestled within 15.5 acres along the Genesee River, the Zoo is one of Greater Rochester's most popular family attractions.
