Our Story
Ra Yoga Studio Is the Collaborative Dream of Robert Kittleman, Jenny Vande Hei, and Aileen Pham.
Founded in the belief that yoga should be "by the people, for the people," we are not owned by or affiliated with a larger entity.
We Believe That Everyone Is a Yogi, and That Means You.
You don't need to be flexible or thin or have the "right" clothes. You don't need to know ancient Sanskrit or burn incense in your home. All you need to do is show up and do your best with breath. You will transform your body, your mind, and your whole life with this practice, just as we did. You are reading this now, and so you're on the right path, and your transformation can begin now. You've got nothing to lose except the fear and anger and weight that you've been holding on to. Get ready to transform your body, your mind, and your life, re-discover happiness, and realize who you are.
Everyone Will Find Something Different At Ra Yoga Studio.
Come experience our space for yourself & breathe in light.
At Ra Yoga

First Time
How Do I Know Which Class Is Best for Me?
It is a good idea to try several different styles to see what resonates with you best. For those looking to stay away from the heat: Ra Vinyasa Level 1, Restorative, and Yin Stretch classes are a great place to start for new people to yoga. Restorative and Yin Stretch classes flow at a much slower pace, while Ra Vinyasa Level 1 is a bit more involved and is taught at a faster pace. For those looking to step into the heat: Hot Ra Level 1 is a good class to introduce you to the heated environment with a slower pace than Hot Ra Level 2. If you are a more experienced yogi looking to be challenged try Introduction to Ra Vinyasa Level 2, Yogalates, Ra Vinyasa Level 2, or our most challenging class Ra Strength.
What Are the Health Benefits of Yoga?
Yoga has a myriad of health benefits. Breathing deeply keeps the mind focused, cleans out the lungs, and increases circulation, which oxygenates your entire system. Stretching increases flexibility, which can prevent injuries. Strength and muscle tone are the result of supporting your body weight in various poses. And, physical exertion of any kind is super important for stress reduction. Because of the concentration required, your daily troubles seem to melt away during the time you are doing yoga. These are just a few of the magical benefits of practicing the art of yoga.
I Work Out Often. Can I Take the Intermediate/advanced Classes?
You are welcome to participate in any class you'd like, but if you've never done yoga before we recommend first trying one or two classes designated as "all ranges" in order to learn the postures and alignment. A good place to start, for example, is Ra Vinyasa Level 1. Honor what your body needs and respect that if you end up in a class beyond your level it can be very distracting for other students.
Do I Need a Mat? Can I Rent Or Purchase One At the Studio?
Feel free to bring your own mat for any of our yoga classes or workshops. If participating in a heated class, you may also find it helpful to bring a bath-sized towel. We also have these items available at the studio for purchase and/or rental. Yoga mats and towels can be rented from the studio for $2 each.
Do You Have Showers and a Place to Keep My Belongings?
Ra Yoga has changing areas, showers, and shower amenities available for you to use. In our changing area, we have a wall of shelving units which are also available for you to use to keep your belongings in during class. If you would feel more comfortable bringing certain valuables into class with you (wallet, keys, etc) , you certainly may do so.
What If I Can't Do a Pose?
No need to worry! It's no problem if there are poses that you can't fully extend into. The teacher will offer different variations so that everyone can benefit from the postures. Each time you come to class, you will learn a little bit more, practice moving with your breath a little bit more, and most likely, you will be able to achieve the pose you are working towards at some point. Having said that, remember that the flexible yogis you see in pictures did not achieve those poses overnight. Be patient, and give yourself time, and see how the impossible slowly becomes doable.
Do I Have to Be Flexible to Do Yoga?
Thinking you have to be flexible to do yoga is a myth. Yoga was actually created to help you gain more flexibility, which loosens tight muscles and prevents injury. Yoga is not about bending and contorting yourself into difficult poses it is simply a process for you to explore and get to know yourself. The quality of your practice doesn't depend on whether you can touch your toes, but how much you are able to tune into yourself. If you, or anyone you know, are still hesitating to try yoga because you can't touch your toes, remember that you can always bend your knees.
What Should I Wear?
Wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move and stretch in. Many yogis tend to wear lightweight work-out clothes, such as a t-shirt, biking shorts, sports top, or a pair of easy fit shorts. Bottom-line: You want your clothes to move with you, not against you.
Should I Eat Before Coming to Class?
Doing yoga on a full stomach is not fun, yet doing yoga when you're starving isn't a good idea either. We recommend eating a light snack one hour before class or a meal 2-3 hours before class. This way your body is fueled but not focused on digestion. Also, make sure to drink a moderate amount of water throughout the 12 hours prior to class. You may sweat a lot during class, we advise you to be well-hydrated both before and after class.
Do I Have to Register for Class Beforehand?
No, just drop in for class anytime. All scheduled classes are on a first-come, first-serve basis. On your first visit to Ra Yoga, we ask that you please arrive at least 15 minutes early so that we have time to collect your information and orient you to our studio.
The Heat
What Are the Benefits of Hot Yoga?
Don't fear the heat! The benefits of practicing yoga in a heated environment are endless, however there are 4 points to be listed here: Warms the body to allow for deeper stretching without injury, Facilitates an excellent cardiovascular workout, Helps to detoxify the body through sweating, Weight loss. Being in the heat may be a challenge in the beginning because most people are not accustomed to being in that kind of environment, and because most of us have an aversion to intense sweating. After a few classes however, most students begin to get acclimated to the temperature. Most students are surprised that they start to crave being in the hot yoga room - yes, even in the summer.
What Is Convection Heat?
Convection heat is what you feel from air heated by warm air furnaces, heat pumps, and baseboards. The warm air is usually distributed mechanically.
Which Classes Are Not Heated?
Ra Vinyasa Level 1, Ra-storative, Yin Stretch, Meditation, Prenatal, and Little Ra-scals yoga classes are not heated. Intro to Ra Vinyasa Level 2 is a nice introduction to heated classes as it is gently heated. The hottest classes we offer are Hot Ra 1, Hot Ra 2, Ra Strength, and Ra Vinyasa Level 2. Our class schedule (under the "Classes" tab at the top menu) provides a feature through which you can filter classes based on the desired temperature range.
What Is Radiant Heat?
Radiant heat is what you feel when heat transfers from a warm surface to a cooler surface. Radiant heat works with the laws of physics - not against them. It heats objects in its path, which then re-radiate heat to the air. This is how the sun heats the earth. (Notice how much warmer you feel standing in direct sunlight, as opposed to a shaded area under a tree.)
Why Is Radiant Heat Better Than Convection Heat?
Unlike other yoga studios which heat their classes using convection heat, Ra Yoga Studio has installed a world-class, eco-friendly radiant heating system (the most efficient form of heat transfer) . Since radiant energy heats objects, there is no air to blow and no stratification of hot or cold air pockets. Radiant heat is healthy, comfortable, and hypoallergenic heat. No convection heat air movement means no distribution of unhealthy bacteria and/or allergens and no dust. The radiant heaters at Ra Yoga Studio also have a low carbon footprint and are fully recyclable.
Ra Creations
Ra Yoga was forged in the ether of imagination and creative collectiveness between its three owners. It is in this spirit that we are utterly humbled by the universe allowing us a space to share our creative passions with so many lovely yogis. First of all, I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you for your patience and understanding regarding messiness, rough wood covers, stubbed toes or dusty accessories. Secondly I want to share the creation story of "Urban Sprawl" and "Heart Seeks Tree". This story begins with an idea and ends with a fortnight of 8 hr (10 pm to 6 am) exhaustive nights of buttering tile, hand-cutting stone, and jigsaw-puzzling granite bits. There are innumerable details that were left out of this story but I do want to talk about the intention of the storytelling.... it is not told to brag, to boost, or to place Ra above any other place in Orange County. It is told to hopefully inspire you to follow your own creative vision. Sometimes the journey for an idea is one day, sometimes it requires 20 months of storage, sometimes it will require 2 weeks of sleepless nights, sometimes it will cause a few moments of discomfort for others but don't ever stop following your passion and living your dream ideas.
The Idea Was First Conceived During a Conversation Regarding Our Plain Concrete Floors in Our Locker Rooms During Our Grand Opening Party 2 Years Ago (Happy 2 Year Anniversary to Ra Yoga!!!) .
A friend stated that he works next to a granite milling company, which every 6 months throws all their granite scraps into the landfill.
2 Weeks Later
Bobby receives a phone call that there are 2 tons of granite waiting for him to pick-up by tonight. This leads to panic, bewilderment and ultimately a pleading from Bobby to his fiance that she allow him to use her car to transport 2 tons of granite.
For the Next 20 Months
A storage company makes good money off of a yoga studio storing granite chunks at their facility.
1.5 Month Ago
A shop is leased to layout all the granite chunks. A hand chisel and special rock hammer is purchased at a local Home Depot. Jason Corley spends a week rotating granite pieces in various 360 degrees shapes to construct the tree.
Night 1
10 pm - Craig (25 years in the business) states, "This is going to be the hardest project I have ever done." First granite branch in the men's shower area is set. Bobby learns about the magic that happens when water is added to a bag of cement dust and then 7 hours later it dries again and a bond takes hold between granite and cement floor.
Night 3
10 pm - Handheld Angle Grinders are equipped with diamond tipped blades to start cutting out traces of branch outlines on stone tile so that these tiles can sit around the granite branches.
Morning Day 10
The neighbors behind Ra Yoga unite and call Ra to inform them of the noise level produced from cutting stone with an angle grinder.... Ra is mortified at the thought of not realizing how far the sound was carried and decides to rent a U-Haul truck which will be lined with rugs to dull sound and direct it all towards Bristol.
Morning 14
Grout is set. Trees are named "Urban Sprawl" - Men's Locker Room and "Heart Seeks Tree" - Women's Locker Room.
Two Fold Idea Is Born
Save the planet from waste; Build a tree out of granite.
Granite Is Heavier Than Bobby Expects.
Granite bits are dustier than could ever be imagined.
Jason Corley, Matt Chaos and Craig Flanagan (now closer friends and operators of Artistic Build) are pitched the idea of a granite mosaic tree with tile surrounding. I really cannot emphasize the level of excitement in their spirits as Ra described its vision and Artistic Build's passion took root.
Construction begins.
Night 2
10 pm - Craig and Bobby learn to appreciate trying to get 1/4-inch thick tile to become flush with 1 1/4 inch thick granite chunks.
Night 4-9
10 pm - Exhaustion begins to take hold. Health food at 4 am is no longer being consumed and our diets are beginning to consist of Nerds Ropes, Rolos, Sour Skittles and Coffee, but real progress is being made. Seeds of labor are bearing fruit.
Night 10-14
Assembly line work truly begins: Bobby spends 3 nights cutting stone in the back of a truck, being completely consumed in a cloud of tile dust. Craig is on his hand and knees setting tile to be flush with granite trees, Jason is tracing outlines on tiles, Matt is mixing cement and prepping tiles.

Jenny Vande Hei
Jenny began practicing yoga on and off nearly 10 years ago. But it wasn't until her second knee surgery in 2004 that she got serious about her practice. She had found an amazing teacher who poured her heart into her teaching and made classes much more than stretching. Jenny aspires to offer her students this same kind of inspiration. In 2006 she began teaching yoga only because she was living in East Africa and had a yoga mat. Upon moving to Tanzania she started a small class at her language school just to get some exercise. She began teaching with no formal training and never imagined that teaching would become her path. For two years her students were the children who were part of the center where she worked and the relief workers that served them. This yoga class is still carrying on and is now taught by a Tanzanian. Yoga began as a community building experience for Jenny and that idea of community was her inspiration to begin her own studio. Jenny has trained with Corepower Yoga, Yoga Works and is a Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist through IAYT. She has studied under, Sarasvati Buhrman, Richard Rohr, Makunda Stiles, Jnani Chapman and many more. Jenny specializes in private yoga asana and yoga therapy.

After the births of each of her children (12/2008 and 5/2011) Emily has slowly come back to teaching, and is grateful for the gift of practicing yoga through both pregnancies. Jaime Clark
Jaime has always had a passion for health awareness and physical well-being. Throughout her youth, she was introduced to various forms of creative movement and conditioning including dance, Pilates, and eventually Yoga. It was her realization in the healing affects that Yoga provided on the body and mind that captured her. Jaime endeavors to inspire and nourish her students through a compassionate and playful practice, while equating the spiritual experience of the mind. Her fascination for anatomy and knowledge of alignment is made clear through her technical cues and ability to give guidance in every pose, while enforcing a strong emphasis on the breath.
Madison Canary
Madison came to yoga after 10 years as a ballerina left her body injured and unable to move. It was yoga that brought her body and spirit back to life! It was out of a deep appreciation and love for the practice that she started teacher training; the first day of class, she knew this is what I was called to be. Madison's excitement for the practice is infectious and the number one thing she aspires to pass along to her students is joy. Joy for life, for movement, for their bodies. She received her 200-hour certification through CorePower. She is especially trained in Vinyasa flow and Restorative yoga and her sequencing is greatly influenced by her ballet and contemporary dance training. Instruction aims to encourage students to find their inner source of power through unifying body and breathe to overcome the false limitations of the mind. Teaching techniques and methods are drawn from yoga, dance, moving meditations and Eastern philosophy. Moving forward, she is beginning training in Yoga Therapy and Kid's Yoga!
Travis Kendrick
Travis has a passion for self-expression through movement. He likes to think of the yoga practice as a moving meditation - an opportunity to "dance" through the physical postures, exploring how movement translates internally by using the breath as a channel between the physical body and mind. Travis is a MFA Directing candidate at the University of California, Irvine, having previously earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Point Park University's Conservatory of Performing Arts, and enjoys incorporating his theatre and dance background into the classes he teaches. A Yoga Alliance certified instructor, Travis holds his 200-hr and 500-hr from Frog Lotus Yoga and has studied under Jennifer Yarro and Vidya Heisel. He has taught and studied yoga in Tennesee, Massachusetts, New York City, and Thailand, and brings an eclectic mix of yoga styles to the classes he teaches. While in NYC, he participated in Yoga Vida's advanced teacher Mentorship Program, studying under senior teacher Lindsay Hilscher. Travis is also a theatre and dance instructor, tarot card reader, and Master Reiki Practitioner.
Kiki Haga
My yoga practice began in 2010 with much resistance and persistence. During many classes, my body felt a little sick, sticky, and sweaty--- but it was my mind that felt a quiet sensation of stillness, a reservoir of grace and patience that slowly leaked through the walls of my uncertainty and stiffness. Eventually, the flow of yoga became my wave; an atmosphere to sink the doubts but the let the joy float evermore. It's crazy how simplicity becomes the complex patterns and pathways to the future: how ideas become spoken into words, and as the words become mental habits, then the goals are this very reality. My reality and goals manifested my yoga certificate (200hr) certificate in 2012. I'm grateful and yet, still humbly surprised by what yoga teaches me mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. I see this path to be a catalyst of transformation, a strong current in the sea that pulls and pushes only if you resistthe act of letting go actually saves you from drowning. I also love arts and crafts, planting botanical arrangements, and furthering my education to become a holistic nurse.
Michelle August
I was born in the San Francisco Bay Area and have been in Orange County for about 10 years. I began practicing yoga when I was 20 and fell in love immediately. Nichole started her yoga journey in 2008 and her passion for the art keeps growing. Her initial reason for starting yoga was for the physical aspect but as she kept practicing she realized it was so much more and started to understand that life was meant to be lead, in union - mind, body and soul. She believes that yoga is about tapping into the wisdom of your body and soul so you are able to take care of yourself from the inside out. She received her level 1 and level 2 certification under the eye of well known, well respected Jimmy Barkan. She feels very blessed to have worked with some of the most renowned teachers but credits her personal development and passion from her own practice and her connection to her students. Nichole has the ability to guide her students into a place of empowerment, both mentally and physically. Her devotion to yoga is a recipe for a truly inspiring class, delivering a good balance of body, mind and breath, with skillful sequencing and a keen eye for proper alignment. You will undoubtedly leave your mat feeling rejuvenated, refreshed and ready to take on anything that comes your way.
Stacey Fetterman
Stacey's love for yoga began over a decade ago. Being diagnosed with ADHD at a young age (blah!) , her refusal of meds led her and her parents to the exploration for alternative methods to channel her exuberance of energy. Soccer, basketball and lacrosse helped but something was missing. In college, she was looking for balance in the intense experience juggling classes, a soccer scholarship and the calling for a deeper connection to her spirit. After her first yoga class, where she was able to explore the variety of sensations physically, mentally and emotionally, she knew she was on to something. Her insatiable love for travel and life has taken her on some fabulous journey. While embracing her playful gypsy soul, yoga has remained a constant and accessible grounding source in her life. Her commitment to meditation has allowed her to reel in her energy and give it focus. Honoring present moment awareness and mindfulness, her natural connection with children is undeniable. Always knowing her life work was to be with kids, her own practice allowed her to see where she was needed most. She believes that everyone has their own true north star, that is as unique and individual as they are. Her dedication to making children feel good about themselves inside and out is weaved into her unique class thru movement, meditation, self expression and a lilt bit o magic. Working with children 4-74, her Mary Poppins style is sure to leave you feeling connected with your highest good and knowing your best is always enough. In addition to RA, she thanks Smiling Monkey Yoga, Jabulani Yoga and The Center for Living Peace for allowing her to shine bright!

Melissa Christensen
Yoga quickly became a way of life for Melissa when she noticed that the most significant impact of her practice was happening off the mat. With a strong desire to find a deeper meaning and more balanced way of life, she delved into the authentic teachings and philosophy behind the science and practice of yoga. Now an E-200 RYT-500 Yoga Alliance certified teacher, having graduated from Yoga Pura's 500-hour Advanced Studies & Teacher Training program in Phoenix, AZ, she is devoted to sharing her passion for yoga and the gift this transformational practice offers to all of her students. Joey Omara
Joey completed his YTT from Corewpower in 2010. When he's not teaching his high energy, pumped up classes, you can find him riding his bike across the county, dueling out in intergalactic star fights, and traveling the world searching for the best house music for his classes, while always keeping an eye out for the Temple of Doom.... mostly true.
Stacey Hickman
Stacey's yoga journey began 5 years ago when she worked for Lululemon. Always an athlete and into fitness, Stacey was looking for something to balance out her training and active lifestlye. "Yoga brought me a sense of calm and serenity, a place where I could quiet my mind, but continue to challenge my body and build strength and flexibility." Shortly after taking her first class, Stacey enrolled in Teacher training and received her 200 hour power yoga certificate. She quickly followed by specializing in yoga strength and received her pilates and hot yoga certificates as well. " I am a single mom of 3 children, so I look to my mat to offer me some stillness." She hopes to bring the same sense of grounding to her students everyday on their mats.
Michaela Miller
I found yoga about 6 years when my best friend dragged me to her class kicking and screaming! I had this notion that yoga was not a "workout" or would not be for me. But man was I wrong. After looking like a complete fool and having no idea what I was doing I was 100% hooked and in love. I credit Ms. Sarah Bot with my love for yoga, since my first class was hers. After practicing and developing a love for this new fad called "hot yoga" I took my practice over to Corepower where my first teacher training took place. I started teaching at Corepower and fell in love with yoga and bringing my joy to all my students. During my time at Corepower I completed a number of different certifications all benefiting my teaching and finding my style. I recently had the opportunity of a lifetime teaching and growing my practice in Bali! I was living in Bali for 3 months teaching yoga and experiencing life. Yoga for me is a journey and through every up and down in my life my mat has stayed a constant present with me.
Jason Rowell
Upon returning home to Orange County in 2009 following a 10 year span in Northern California, Jason attended his first yoga class with one of his siblings. Though he began this experience with little to no knowledge or expectations, he emerged with a sense that he had found something special. Over the next couple of years he continued to attend classes on a regular basis, but ultimately came to the realization that yoga was more than just a form of exercise, it was fundamental to the direction he sought in life. With this understanding he knew that his next step required the completion of teacher training in order to share his experiences with others, but also to deepen his own practice through a greater knowledge base and perspective. Jason believes that yoga is an incredibly powerful tool for change, in both your physical body and state of mind. Every time you come to your mat you're presented with opportunity for growth, understanding, and possibility; one need only to breathe, listen, and stay in the moment. As with life, yoga is about the journey, not the destination.
David Miller
I started my yoga journey with Rodney Yee VHS tapes in 1999 but didn't get serious about my practice until I got sober in 2006. Yoga helped me find peace at a time when peace didn't come easy and it helped me to challenge myself when I needed the push. In 2007 did my 200 hour Power yoga teacher training at CorePower Yoga in Minneapolis. Since then I've done Hot Power Fusion, Sculpt and Level 2 trainings with CorePower and the Embodying the Flow training with Shiva Rea as well as numerous workshops from a variety of teachers. I've taught thousands of classes in the United States and abroad. Still, all these years later I have a hard time believing that I'm so lucky to get to make this my life! My students inspire me daily and help me to stay humble and to never stop growing.
Kaitlin Honeycutt
Kaitlin began practicing yoga in college at Ohio University 5 years ago, having had a sports background her whole life. After moving to California, she continued to venture down her new found yoga path practicing on and off, doing the free-week yoga hop from studio to studio. Kaitlin eventually landed at Ra's doorstep, finding her home. She quickly developed a consecutive practice and found mentor teachers who she looked up to and who had what she long to have in their own practice. After almost a year of dedicated practice, many long talks with her teachers and after seeing how yoga had transformed their lives along with being witness to the change in her own, Kaitlin decided that she wanted to give to others what was so beautifully given to her: yoga. Kaitlin found herself at White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara for her YTT and graduated with her 200+ hour certificate in August 2013. Since, Kaitlin has poured herself into strengthening her own practice and teaching to help others find the beauty in their own.
Emily Laine
There's no other way to describe how Emily came to yoga than that it was through a distinct calling in her early 20's, and she's been on the path ever since. After several years of yoga practice, Emily completed her first 200 hour teacher training with Marni Taski, a senior certified Jivamukti and Anusara teacher, in Cleveland, OH and then completed an additional 200 hour training at CorePower Yoga in California. She taught vinyasa yoga for years before moving abroad where she met her teachers in the style of YogaMonks, a method of movement which works on the spine. Through their four year sadhana and teacher training program, Jonathan Monks and Mithila Ubayasekara have completely taken Emily's practice and teaching to another realm! In addition to teaching yoga, Emily is an Ayurvedic Counselor, Certified Massage Therapist, Ayurvedic Body Therapist, and a Pranic Healer. Her passion is continually learning, practicing, and becoming more and more her most true self, and she aspires to guide others toward being their most authentic selves as well
Jennifer Balalis
I began yoga in 2011 and fell in love with it in my first class. I completed my 200-hour RYT teacher training through Cloud Nine Yoga in the summer of 2012. I am soft-spoken and overcame my fear of public speaking to share my love of yoga with others. I always knew that my love of teaching was stronger than my fear, and I faced it head-on during teacher training, sometimes through tears. Now, I confidently teach a weekly chair yoga class for seniors and enjoy sharing the gift of yoga and good health. I teach restorative, yin and stretch classes. I teach yoga because it makes me a better student, both on and off the mat. I have learned to slow down and really enjoy each experience to the fullest. An avid runner, I just completed my ninth half marathon. Three years ago my focus was on getting a fast race time. Since practicing yoga regularly, my favorite race memory is of my second time running the Long Beach half marathon, and stopping to get a hug and a kiss at mile eight from my son. It was at that moment that I realized that running, yoga and LIFE was about enjoying the present and not missing out on that hug and kiss, and not about a slightly faster time. This now, is how I view yoga; being present in life, with gratitude. I consider myself a work in progress and my goal is to create a safe space to come together to practice. I look forward to seeing you on your mat.

Abigail Tyler
I started practicing yoga regularly in 2010. My love for yoga began at first Savasana. A couple of years into my yoga practice I signed up for Yoga Teacher Training, committing myself to my true authentic calling. I received my Yoga Alliance RYT-200 from Cloud Nine Yoga. My style is an energetic athletic flow balanced with Pranayama & Meditation. I enjoy catering to the needs and request of my students to keep the practice exciting. I aspire to create a fun and balanced class for my students and also provide a safe and sacred space. I am currently enrolled in Kundalini Teacher Training at Yoga West, LA. and due to graduate June 2014. The journey of this training has been indescribable and the influence it has had on me as a teacher invaluable. In Kundalini yoga you will hear the term SAT NAM (Sat "truth"; Nam "identity") . Living our truth authentically in our yoga practice helps us take that truth off the mat and into the world. Together, one yogi at a time we can shine our lights and collectively light up this beautiful planet.
Diane Kazer
Diane has been a consistent yogi for 15 years, even while playing pro soccer in Germany & travelling the world! Diane is a former National bodybuilding competitor, turned financial planner, now Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist, aspiring to integrate Eastern & Western Medicine, especially focused on hormones and digestion. The extreme athlete she is, yoga has kept her off pain meds and spinal surgery and prescribes it to everyone she consults. She recently travelled to Brazil, Thailand & India alone to face her fears, which she sprinkles into classes, inspiring students to identify and conquer their own. She has studied various styles of yoga from Bikram, Yin, Vinyasa, Bhakti, Ashtanga and Hatha. Her style of yoga is unique, offering more than just breath to movement cues, by integrating the many benefits of internal balance and nutritional function as well as emphasizing the importance of our physical foundation to recruit the deepest strength within us. "Our surroundings are mirrors of our thoughts, and my class will teach you a lot about yourself", she says. Identify your weaknesses, and ascend to your highest potential! Drop in for YOUR hour, and experience her class, that's 'to Di for'!

Bobby Kittleman
Bobby's history as a yoga instructor is yet to begin, but his experience with the daily practice of yoga began circa 2008. His background as a corporate strategic planning analyst within the stressful confines of the cubicle world left him seeking relaxation and escape. As with most healthy things in his life, about two years after making a New Year's resolution to start practicing yoga, Bobby entered his first class on a Saturday morning. Being completely unprepared, he had a bagel and two cups of coffee prior to class; needless to say how that experience went down. Since then Bobby has learned to rejoice in the physical, emotional and spiritual challenges yoga has presented to him. These lessons through yoga have proven to be applicable throughout all facets of his daily work and personal life. Now to start the fresh decade, he hopes to share these lessons in a community where all can find a solution through yoga. As the saying goes, "you have to give it away to keep it" and I want to give it away.
Karma Exchange
Karma Exchange
In an effort to connect clients to teachers, Ra Yoga created a "karma exchange" which is a custom wood piece where student can leave bits of karma to their teachers. This idea was born out of concept that teachers give so much to their student and students don't always have a clear venue in which to reciprocate this love. Below is a virtual edition of Ra's in-house karma exchange.

Class Descriptions
Ra Vinyasa Level 2
Ra Vinyasa Level 2 is a continuation class for the Level 1 course focusing on refining the poses and building endurance in the body. It will offer a balance of strength, flexibility, and endurance to challenge the fitness enthusiast. This class is taught in a heated environment to encourage detoxification through sweat and enhance muscle and joint opening
Budokon Primary Series
The BUDOKON YOGA style is best described as a transition based hatha Yoga flow with continuous circular rotation. Our Yoga style honors its traditional roots of Hatha (posture based) Yoga while bringing a completely unique Martial Arts circular influence. This flow was created by Hatha Yoga Master and Martial Arts Grandmaster Kancho Cameron Shayne. This is an advanced class
Ra Strength 1 (Babysitting Available)
Ra Strength harmonizes the practice of yoga and the benefits of weight lifting. The student flows through a yoga sequence practiced with light weights in hands. The added weight provides the resistance needed to strengthen, tone, and improve a regular yoga practice. Babysitting available at $8 per child or $30 unlimited per month
Yin Stretch 1 (Babysitting Available)
Yin-stretch is a passive yoga class focused on deep stretching of the connective tissue that makes up the tendons, ligaments and joints of the body. Where muscles need fast active stretch, connective tissue needs long, slow, deep stretch. Yin postures are seated or lying floor postures, held for 3-5 minutes. You'll balance out the body, as well as bring stillness and peace to the ever-active mind. A perfect way to balance your more active classes/workouts! This practice is another great non-heated yoga class. Babysitting is available for $8 per child or $30 for unlimited per month
Lunchtime Yoga
Take a break from your day and spend lunch with us! Enjoy a 45 minute flow-style class that will help move your body and increase metabolism. This class is designed to provide you with that extra energy to get you through that afternoon drag and keep you invigorated throughout the day!
Hot Ra 2 (Babysitting Available)
This class combines the styles of Ra Vinyasa and a well sequenced Hot Yoga series to create a fun fusion of the two styles. This class is practiced in a heated environment to encourage detoxification, build mental endurance and improve flexibility. This sequence is designed to systematically open the body from outside in, working muscles, joints, thyroid gland, digestive system, internal organs, and lymph nodes. Music is also played to enhance your overall experience. Babysitting is available @ $8 per child or $30 unlimited per month

Meditation - 50% Off
As a natural progression of our yogic journey, meditation is quite often the next step to explore. Thousands of years ago, yoga was created to train the body to be still simply for the act of meditation. Come learn how to cultivate your own meditation practice as you are introduced to the process and gently guided through sadhana (meditation)

Baby & Me Class
When a mother gives birth to her baby, a great bond is created. This bond can be further cultivated and nourished through a yoga practice involving mother/father and baby. Bring your baby with you to yoga and learn how to deepen that connection to yourself and your baby at the same time. You will find that the deeper your connection and self love, the deeper your connection you can have with your baby. It gets euphoric. Mother/Father and baby move through poses together as the class is very relaxed and playful. Come and join other parents in your neighborhood and learn some conscious parenting techniques from an experienced mother and yogi. Babies should be between 0 to 3 year old. Please call the studio for more details
Yogalates
Yogalates combines the benefits of yoga with the core strengthening benefits of Pilates. Like a sandwich, the class begins and ends much like Ra Vinyasa, but the meat of the course includes traditional mat Pilates. This class is heated to help warm up students bodies quicker
Ra Vinyasa Intro to Level 2 (Babysitting Availalble)
This class is designed to help students transition from our Level 1 class to a Level 2 class. Postures found in the Level 2 class will be broken down for those students who are still taking Level 1 and have yet to try a Level 2. All are welcome!

Doing prenatal yoga can be a wonderful way to put time aside for yourself and your baby. Although most gentle types of yoga are appropriate during pregnancy, there are a few things to avoid in order to make your pregnancy yoga experience safe and enjoyable. The instructors at Ra will safely guide expecting mothers through poses that aid during pregnancy including stress management, breathing techniques, and hip opening
