Pod was probably my first "upscale" restaurant when I was a teen. It's fun and has great sushi rolls but can get loud. If you want something more casual than Morimoto or RAW, pod is a fun joint
Try the sakemojito! All of the sushi was incredible...especially the roll with yellowtail and jalepeno! Pick up a sushi sampler from the conveyor belt inside, and bring a group to sit in ur own pod.
The rockin' spicy tuna roll was amazing. Our group of 9 had the large pod private room & we enjoyed choosing the different color ambiance lighting to spice up the fun. Danielle was a lovely waitress!
Got a bento box for a work lunch & split the edamame, crispy ricespicy tuna & chicken w Bibb lettuce wraps. Everything was decent, nothing stood out as amazing
We had a round table in the back room - great for conversation. I asked for a spiceytuna roll - not exactly on the menu - didn't want the crab on top - excellent!
Futuristic space-age ambiance meets modern Asian cuisine in this unique Stephen Starr restaurant. The sushi is always top-notch and the crab fried rice is a favorite!
One of the very best places to eat in Philly. Reserve your table beforehand and try to get seated in one of the Pods, where you can change the lighting and be separated from the rest of the crowd.
They recently started a happy hour from 5 to 7pm Monday thru Friday. Certain appetizers are 1/2 off and so are the cocktails, wine and beer selections.
Pod has such fresh delicious sushi! Their own sushi rolls are awesome especially Umi No Samurai nori wrapped cucumber and avocado roll topped with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, tempura shrimp and eel.
When it opened, it was the best Japanese in town. Now it is over-priced for the same things you can get elsewhere for cheaper. You won't have a bad meal overall.
The UniversityCitysushi restaurant offers a $25 all-you-can-eat sushi deal on Tuesday nights after 9 p.m. Reservations (and gluttony pants) are highly recommended. Read more
Come here for the atmosphere, typical of Starr restaurants. Food is quality, but not outstanding by any means and will cost you. Primarily good for special occasions.
Been here for the first time to have a quick take out. I understand it was a busy night. But having to wait more than 45 minutes for three rolls of sushi is absurd esp with apathetic service
Sushi was good but a bit overpriced. Sake selection is fantastic but be careful they don't try to rope you into paying for a way expensive bottle instead of caraffe
Stephen Starr’s ultra-modern oasis brings Pan-Asian fare & sushi. The sushi bar’s conveyer belt delivers nigiri and maki and the shareable family-style menu covers Japan, China, Vietnam, Korea and more. Serving dinner daily, and lunch and Happy Hour weekdays.
