Coat check available for a small fee. Resfreshments and snacks available for purchase before and during intermission. Great plays and musicals and comfortable.seats.
alvin ailey's revelations should be mandatory in december for everyone who lives in NY. <$30 for a ticket on a weekday and saw 4 original choreographed pieces from the 60s!
A beautiful space, but like many old theaters, it's not as handicap accessible as it could be. And mid to rear balcony is definitely an obstructed view, so keep that in mind.
This place is just getting worse and management is apathetic or missing the mark. Staff is mindless and rules supersede crowd management and comfort. We were told re entry was ok then gave us trouble.
I went to see Spirit Control, and it was pretty decent. The story was a bit convoluted, but the lighting design was lovely and the acting was pretty good.
If you find yourself at the entrance at 130 56th St, you can walk through the adjacent building's lobby to reach 55th St. The 56th St entrance is not for ticketed guests.
