Avoid the coleslaw - full of rye seeds. Get the chopped liver, it has a hint of sweetness and comes with a nice vegetable medley

Montreal-style smoked meat on trendy-as-f**k Bond Street. A good spot if you want Katz's but don't want to wait in line with all of the tourists.

This place had tasty and inventive sandwiches a few years back, e.g. BLT buttered with chopped liver, but they're gone and my last smoked meat sandwich was dry, lean, and needed a lot more mustard.

Even the best Jewish delis usually are sorely lacking in the bacon department, but Mile End has you covered. Only bummer is that the sides are way too expensive and they don't open until 10.
