Hunting for bread we found MarieBette and it's restaurant- great salads,soups,sandwiches, pasta (best chicken salad and salad nicoise ever).Try them. Plus friendly baristas and great wait staff.

The 5-grain batard is my favorite for slicing/toasting in the mornings. Also, an excellent treat you won't find anywhere else: Canele de Bordeaux. Expect a wait to eat in the cafe.

Best breakfast sandwich I've had in a while sausage and egg croissant. Great place to come after a long night shift - stuffed French toast is a personal favorite. Weirdly, they don't make omelettes...

I wouldn't get a coffee here over Shenandoah Joe around the corner (that includes espresso). But the coffee is good and the line is much shorter.
