- Lindsay EyinkFebruary 28, 2014Still feels like the SF I moved to 10 years ago. Has food, beer, wifi no fancy decor, stoned surfers, and old hippies. Ocean Beach dunes across the way. There is always some guy playing music!Upvoted 2 weeks ago
- Wayne RashJuly 26, 2016Mostly it's about the location next to Ocean Beach. Coffee is OK. Bran muffin gargantuan size with coconut is one of my favs. Also like the bagel with lox n cream cheese etc
- Beth S.January 19, 2012My only tip here is: GO! This is my fave coffee shop in the area to work, enjoy yummy food & drink or just hang and take a break out by the beach right across the street!
- I love this place! They do a good coffee and a meaty chef's salad. The friendly staff are always happy to watch my valuables while I surf. Every ocean beach session starts at Java
- Excellent coffee and sandwiches. This place is a great way to start and end your day.
- ThreedukesAugust 25, 2017The coffee shop in the big city, that's also totally local. Coffee, food, and staff so good, it makes you want to move here.
- Their BLT is the best - hands down - in the city. Also their chocolate chip cookies are phenomenal
- Julia KateSeptember 14, 2016Friendly staff, wifi, charging access and good simple food. Had my order cinnamon toast in 2yrs! Amazing! :)
- Soy cappuccino - yums! Thickest foam ever! Local spot and laid back vibe. Like the food too.
- If you're feeling up for Music come here on the weekend on Saturday,
- David HeiserJanuary 24, 2017Gets really crowded, even on weekdays. You'll be lucky to find a table if you're trying to work/study.
- clint mannyAugust 23, 2014Great lattes, bagels and hummus!..... Not to mention proximity to the beach and SFSU.
- Get the hot apple cider. Does the job type of coffee. Relax or work. Open late until 11pm
- Jessie SSeptember 21, 2017Decent sandwiches, a little pricey though because it's almost at the tourist area. Nice seating outside to get the sea breeze and be in the sun
- Kwyn MeagherJuly 21, 2021This place has great food or coffee. However you can no longer work on your laptop from here as there’s no power or WiFi and a 15 min limit. Sooo don’t make the same mistake I did.
- The candy apple cider is absolutely delicious! It literally taste like you're drinking a candy apple. Try it, and thank me later : )
- Melissa HofellerMarch 20, 2013Enjoy sitting with strangers. Make room for someone to sit at your table. Long wait for a sandwich. Friendly staff.
- Chill cafe where people bring their dogs laptops and kids. Hunt for a good table and you're set.
- Jeff WeinsteinAugust 9, 2014Free wifi. Get a quick bite, some coffee, maybe a donut then hit the beach.
- Katie TSeptember 3, 2012Try the Yerba mate latte, it's a hard to find drink and they do a great job!
- char zvolanekJune 11, 2009Start at the original Java Beach on Judah, and grab a Depth Charge to fuel your walk down Ocean Beach to Sloat. Finish with a glass of Chianti at the new Java Beach by the zoo.
- BV MeyerMarch 4, 2013Dogs outside only, but there are benches, a small patio, and usually a dog water bowl.
- Abhishek KonaSeptember 7, 2014Cheap place with wifi and regular people not models like in the mission
- Luciano Aldana IIAugust 12, 2012Slow drip first and foremost, bean is changed seasonally. Lots of caffeine for you addicts!
- Luciano Aldana IINovember 27, 2011Bernies Blend or the slow drip from Africa is a tip for those who enjoy black coffee unadulterated.
- Try the BBQ Chicken Sandwich. Its tasty, and comes with a bag of chips
- Kosuke HataJuly 12, 2011They have really good blueberry muffins. The location is hard to beat, but the Internet is blotchy sometimes.
- Lavinia FrankOctober 5, 2011Paid 12.50 for a chef salad and medium coffee. Get here before 10 if you want a table on a Wednesday--mad busy.
- Local drinks: Muddy Water and Depth Charge. What the heck is that? Hahaha. Try it anyway. Live a little!
