- Jetset ExtraApril 3, 2014The hotel invites you to be yourself by injecting your own personality into every element, with out-of-the-box thinking that includes a Western movie every night and a pop-up Eurobar in the evenings. Read more
- Don't pay for late check out! Just ask for Derek free membership few hours prior to your check out.
- Courtney DavisFebruary 3, 2014The seared tuna salad in the restaurant is amazing! Great service and the staff is so friendly! Very modern.. Love it!
- Chris HoldipApril 9, 2013Well so far so food, odd number room 611. Facing the mall, no noise. Room reminds you if the Liwes hotel in Chicago. Large wall to wall window and sofa. Hotel is contemparary style.
- Coletta RobertsFebruary 26, 2017Excellent atmosphere. Great staff. Breakfast is tasty. Love the decor.
- CultureMap Houston ManagerMarch 20, 2012Hotel Derek's Valentino Vin Bar includes an intimate fine dining restaurant and relaxed wine bar by Italian Wine Hall of Fame member and lauded restaurateur, Piero Selvaggio.
- Karen Van HeukelemOctober 27, 2010Great location, great service, clean, trendy, and close to anything you need (either by foot or their free shuttle). Valet parking is good, but very expensive
- Gerren HenryDecember 5, 2011If you have a wedding here make sure you get the steak and chicken on your buffet. Best wedding food yet!
- Anna GallegosJuly 23, 2011Book in advance on their site and get free parking. So worth it since valet is $20 a night!
- Nikki .December 1, 2013Decent stay, my only issue was that valet is $28 but I somehow ended up paying $42. How in the hell that happen? They don't tell you about all the taxes the add to it. Self parking is $20.
- Lindsay LovellJuly 19, 2015Trendy facade (Lobby and bar are great) let down by run down, dirty rooms and tired, stained bathrooms. Don't be fooled by the flash public area, this hotel is run down where it matters
- Kornel RostMay 14, 2016Front desk disorganized. Make sure you give them your CC info. They'll literally lock you out of room!
- Good Hotel, room very nice, services excellent! very good amenities.
- JuanDecember 3, 2015Worse hotel ever! I booked through rocketmiles based on the stars the hotel was given. Well, the reality is this is a ONE star hotel. The rooms are outdated, they don't follow up on promises.
- City View rooms facing the Galleria are nice but make sure you're on a higher floor so you hear less highway noise! Even numbered rooms face downtown (not as much to see though).
- Carlos SuarezDecember 16, 2016I got a bad experience here. The covered me for parking when I did not use it, among other things. I would not recommend a tourist this place.
- JESS KalinowskySeptember 16, 2012Hotels are rated on 1-5 Stars. This one says they are a 4. They are only a 3.5 Star.
- Lisa StoutJuly 4, 2011This hotel is over rated. They have snacks, but for a small bag of m&m's it's $3.00 when they are $1.00 at the store. I was afraid to use the toilet paper afraid I might be charged per square.
- Brad WickwireJanuary 18, 2012Don't stay here if your planning on using the Internet. It's only "slightly" better than a dial up modem!
- Kayla ThompsonAugust 8, 2013the valet and security staff are SO rude here. I was so offended by how they treated me that I promise I will never come back here ever again. What a shame such a nice place hires such big jerks.
- JESS KalinowskySeptember 16, 2012Their "free" car service is only good for ONE MILE. That is NOT far enough in a big city like Houston. Should be 3-5 miles! Concierge NOT helpful. Front desk NOT helpful. Better the last time.
- Courtney DavisFebruary 6, 2014I thought this would be a great experience. But I went to the gym and returned-- no water at all. No warning, nothing. Just turned it off. Now I'm sweaty.
- Mike ContiFebruary 29, 2012Business travelers be warned - the wifi and ethernet connections in this hotel are unbearably slow or sometimes don't work at all!
- Chung-yee NgoMarch 30, 2012Bring toothpaste! The hotel does not provide it and they charge $15 for a "travelers kit"
- Hotel TonightAugust 26, 2011Roll to a local corporate HQ in style via the complimentary Derek Mobile, a black stretch SUV.
- This place tries to hard to be trendy and fails. Miserably. Terrible techno music in the lobby. IKEA threw up in here.
- Glenda McKinneyMay 24, 2010Avoid odd-numbered rooms on low floors, as you'll be listening to the freeway all night long.
- DiamondAugust 21, 2010Decently priced small breakfast but terrible and rude service. Not to mention they managed to burn a bagel...
