Try out the cocktailice cream libations. They are so good. It's OK to sit at the bar. Great place for people watching as grandparents take their 21-something grandkids for their 1st real-world drink.
I am simply blown away by this place. It is the fanciest, most old school, beautiful ice cream parlour I have ever been to. I recommend going at night for a fun, romantic atmosphere.
Everything is great here. I love to bring friends here when they visit from out of town. Sit in one of the private booths to listen to corny radio soap operas. The Peach Belini Float is wonderful.
The ice cream, handmadesodas, and grilled cheese are all divine. Service was top notch! They even offered to go cups for our ice cream. The decor is a fun art deco. Highly recommend!
Check out the "Wicked Martini": vodka, dark crème de cacao & chocolate ice cream or an "OrangeDreamsicle" martini: vanilla vodka, triple sec, orange sherbet and vanilla icecream.http://bit.ly/11JWTO3
Come to see why Fountains on Locust was voted one of America’s Best Restrooms, stay for the ice cream martinis. For more insider tips, follow Moonrise Hotel on Twitter at: bit.ly/moonriseTW
Throw back a "Magnum Opus," a warm, alcoholiccoffee drink infused with enough of the good stuff to melt away all the snow and ice coming our way. http://bit.ly/1jm4AT0
One word...YUMMY! I've eaten here twice and it was delicious both times. If you are on a diet forget it for one meal! The Bearcat sundae was amazing and I tasted the adult grilled cheese...WOW!
Standout sandwiches include the "Prosperity Panini," with grilled zucchini and hummus; and the "Royal Grille," a grilled-cheese with slices of Fuji apple. Read more
Save room for dessert! The ice cream is wonderful. Yes, they have fancyconcoctions, but don't pass up a simple scoop of ice cream. I love the Zanzibar Chocolate with banana slices on top.
The sandwiches are great, atmosphere is fun, & service is attentive. The ice cream, however, is the show-stealer. If u don't have room 4 ice cream after ur meal, try the world's smallest sundae!
Great service and really friendly staff. The soups are fabulous. Actually, everything hear is wonderful. At times can be really noisy in the front of the restaurant.
Try the The Fountain Cuban - The Fountain Cuban - pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, dill pickle, Dijon sauce on a French baguette. The fountain on locust. (via @Foodspotting)
Heather Dawn is the best server ever! Get the Zanzibar ice cream! Gluten free bread option , pretty sure it's Rudis brand so I recommend getting it toasted or it falls apart.
I've had the Fugazzetta, Number 7 and the beef strogenoff soup. All of them were great. This restaurant offers very fresh dishes. The fudge is also wonderful. Their cream soda drinks are a must try to
Try the Strawberry Shake - Rich, creamy ice cream (from Wisconsin of course), real strawberries and fresh-made whipped cream. Complete with tin and more shake goodness! Love it.
Delicious food, good drinks...it's a fun place. The dill pickle soup is a specialty (don't knock it till you try it) and they also make great milkshakes and desserts.
They call it Fountain on Locust because they serve soda here. Soda comes from fountains. That’s why it’s called Fountain on Locust. I am having a beer though. Beer does not come from a fountain.
Great ice cream and home-made caramel. Gluten-free menu, which is great. However - Beware the grilled chicken breast - very processed and fatty. Would not recommend.
Their ice cream comes from a small creamery – rich without many (or any?) additives and just voted "America's Best Bathrooms". Beautiful Space Delicious Treats
