Truly a sight to see. The bar area is massive, the beer is incredible and the food is solid! Outdoor patio is lined with tables and also heat lamps for the cold months. Experimental beers on tap here.
Hands down the best patio in GR. Incredible variety and selection of beer, including some only available here. Food is great too, the beer cheese dip is one of my favorites.
Used to be my fav in GR. Now mostly barrel aged, high abv beers. The days of new, interesting Pales and IPAs seem to be gone. Only thing left for my growler is Reds. Enjoyed the years we had however.
Amazing beer at great prices. This place is huge but is always packed. Love and stout made by founders. Their wheat beer and cherry beer is tasty too. Only 3 dollar pints on Monday nights.
The menu is wonderful, great named sandwiches,I ordered root beer and he had a dark stout,we listened to "Big Sherb", on a Thursday night, they were absolutely sublime.Grabbed a cd.Love this place!!!
Great brewery. Huge space. Lots of taphouse exclusive beers to try alongside the well known favorites. Good food. Nice outdoor space as well. A must visit when in GR
While I don't drink beer, it's fun to hang out here with my friends who do. Perfect for lunch - grab one of their many awesome sandwiches. Try the grilled cheese - choice of cheeses with cream cheese!
Round up some friends and head on over the Founder's for some amazing craft beers. The low ABV and citrusy hops of their All Day IPA is a strong choice if you plan on drinking for a while.
Best brewerypatio in Grand Rapids and is not to be missed. There are plenty of heaters and fire places to keep you warm even on the coldest days. Oh and the beer is always great.
Nick from the kitchen and Jason from the bar were extremely gracious and helpful in correcting an issue. Aside from the superior beer and excellent food, their service has also now proven 10/10.
Don't be freaked out by the size of the place; just find a seat, walk up and order a sandwich or munchies (the cheese steak was great!), get a pint from the bar, settle in and enjoy!
amazing bar, amazing people. once you start a tab you can be anywhere in the bar and add to it. exceptional food and service. beers available here that are not sold anywhere else.
Order both pretzels and peanuts to snack on while enjoying the brews. For pretzels, try the Centennial IPAHoney Mustard. With the peanuts, use one of the two baskets are provided for your shells.
Friendly bartenders who know their beer and a few free samples to boot. Would be great if they had just a few more on tap, but they do brew some great beers. Must have the Breakfast Stout.
Okay folks, Founders has taken the tap room, beer garden & menu to a whole new level with their latest updates. Holy wow! Get in here and see the three (!) tap areas and everything else! Do it!
The beer and the food is good. It's seat yourself and I've been here twice where three parties that were behind us ran ahead to get seats. It's like musical chairs.
Charise's Ruben, Mug Clubber, or the Blushing Monk are up at the top of my list of favorite sandwiches for sure. One of those and a pint of Solid Gold makes for a great lunch.
This is an amazing place. The Devil Dancer is among the best sandwiches I've ever had. Watch out, you might need some water to put the fire in your mouth out... Or lots of beer.
Thoroughly unimpressed with their food. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was literally lunch meat and hot sauce on bread. Their beer are mostly over-hopped takes on pale ales.
Obviously the beer is great, food is rather delicious (some breweries struggle w that), but service was mehhh. Bartenders and staff in Detroit are WAY more personable no matter how slow or busy it is.
Founders Brewing Co. is entirely open to the outdoors. Recently renovated and totally revamped, there’s an enormous deck that pales in comparison to the amount of people standing on it. Read more
The Devil Dancer is full of spicy goodness, but not for the delicate palate. Be warned: if you're not comfortable with vindaloo strength this sandwich will eat you for breakfast! Best eaten with beer
Founders Tap Room in Grand Rapids is NOT family friendly, or able to handle large groups. In a recent visit, the wait staff told us to move tables together for 11 people, but Manager kicked us out.
If it is busy in the late afternoon, don't be afraid to ask to sit with the individuals camped out at 4 and 6-top tables with their computers. We can all be friends at Founders.
We pride ourselves on over-indulged brewing—which has helped us become the world’s second highest-rated brewery. Our taproom is a casual beer hall where titles are left at the door. Enjoy a sandwich and one of a dozen or more beers produced on-site, while you listen to amazing live music.
