- Washingtonian MagazineNovember 22, 2011Try the crispy salmon, a moist filet encased in a crunchy shell and set on steamed jasmine rice. Or a dish of deep-fried bay scallops tossed with basil, scallions, and red peppers.
- The mushroom soup is a spicy delight. If you’re looking for a fun surprise for the table, try the spicy fried papaya. Wow!
- Great lunch specials. I chose the $9 Drunken Noodle combo which comes w/ beef & some sort of breadstick & soup. I was able to substitute the beef for chicken & the stick for a Thai Spring Roll. Yum!
- Maggie MacGJanuary 23, 2017This place is pretty casual but a really varied menu. Food was excellent, with fresh flavors, and our bill wasn't too bad ($30 for 2 with an app and one drink).
- Everything is fantastic here. The food is always fresh and flavorful. It’s one of the best Thai restaurants in the Washington area.
- Brendan LewisJune 27, 2014The Ar Harn Thai menu is a refreshing break from "standard" Thai restaurants in the area. Make sure to try the Gang Hung Lay - it's an amazing pork dish
- Trevor MApril 7, 2015I had the pork special that was like drunken noodles with vinegar. The waitress recommended it and I really liked it!
- Only a handful of tables, but excellent Thai food. The lunch bento style boxes are delicious. Don't ask for Thai Hot, unless you have no gut lining to begin with...
- Washington PostOctober 12, 2011** Stars in Tom Sietsema's Fall Dining Guide 2011. ("Like the food, the decor of this mom-and-pop pays attention to the small stuff," writes Tom.)

- Sally HMay 20, 2012Unimpressed.... The panang had no kick was watery and tasteless, the pad Thai was soggy. Some of the worst Thai food I've had.
