If you're looking for something a little less formal, then hit the bar on the left side of the restaurant. It's right on the water with great views of the ocean.
Go straight for the bar, it's open seating, no need to wait for a table at the restaurant. Drink Mai Tais, the best in LA. Get the fish tacos and save room for the Hula Pie.
Quickly fell in love with Duke's! My "neighborhood" bar with a great view. I could go on and on about this place but it's crowded enough usually! All the food I have had is great. Bartenders great.

This place is gorgeous. Much cleaner than Duke's Waikiki. Dancers were a bice touch. Sunsets are exquisite! Move around to the Ocean Room for the best view though!
Brought a friend from Texas, she was in AWE. We had wonderful service and delicious meals...but by far her face every time the waved crashed on the windows was the best part ;)
The history of Duke’s dates back to 1915, when it was a seafood restaurant called the Las Flores Inn. In 1944 it became The Sea Lion Inn. Duke's opened in 1996 after a fire and renovations.
I feel like they could have done better with the amazing real estate they have! The outdoor patio offers only a few tables with a decent ocean view - and the interior bar smelled a bit like old fish?!
Hit or miss. The fish sandwich looked great. I ordered the seafood salad and it was a joke of limp lettuce and a few soggy shrimp for $20. Beautiful views though and a very friendly seagull who visits
The mountain of nachos is the best in the USA - as a nacho connoiseur, I have seen many a bad nachos. Also - go with the lava flow for your first cocktail. Yum!
The place is rocking! Awesome outdoor deck seating.Had the calamari but it was the guavaBBQ burger that was to die for. I haven't had burger that good in a loonnng time.Must go to!
