Remember to activate Ooredoo Passport if you're traveling to a country that supports it. For just QR100, you get 1GB of roaming data and 100 roaming minutes for a week. Check at the Ooredoo/Qtel kiosk
Very close to the main Doha attraction area which is Souk Waqif. If you have a 'good' passport and more than 3 hours, it is good to go to souk waqif, have a coffee or sheesha and feel the Doha.
If you're traveling from the country which using a diffirent plug-in/adaptor as UK type then go further down to gate 11, next to Oryx lounge there a battery charging station provide many plug types.
Very boring airport ! Must have more activities and bigger duty free since its a big transfer airport between the east and the west . Qatar airways : very big aircrafts company about 85 planes.
Now that you're in Qatar, you'll want to make sure you know what's happening, where to go, or join Qatar's friendliest community! So check out www.iloveqatar.net :)
Be sure you have credit card or $35 USD for a 30 day tour visa for Westerners upon arrival there's an exchange pt for USD or AED to Qatari riyals BEFORE you go through passport control to your right.
Lucky enough to be in 1st class? Check out the free bedrooms and (paid-for) in-house spa in the Premium terminal. It's nice enough to not mind that 6 hour layover.
If u hav a transfer flight which is more than 10 hours then pls do chk whether thers ny other Qatar flight headin prior to urs.If so thn u wil nt gt ny assistance frm the travel desk like hotel stay.
If you have the time, don't bother hanging around the airport and explore Quatar city. Recommended sightseeing: City centre architecture; Seaside promenade for sunset; Souq Waqif in the evening
no internet when it's overcrowded, conditioners also overwork, bring some warm stuff with, if you transfer for more than 5 hours, you can use sleep seats in special area, which is pretty dirty, too.
It has very big Apron and between Parking places and Thé terminal is kind öf far.. It takes time arriving to terminal.. that s my chance actually:))) clean Toilets, cheap cigarettes, smoking room etc.
In addition to free WiFi and food the Quiet Rooms is good if you need to rest. If you are traveling with children don't miss the Play area which is worth a visit!
Present your boarding pass if you have a long layover, to the crew at the food court to get a voucher for a free meal! Must have your jacket during winter as it can get cold.
Beware of stranger approaching you showing a small paper written in english and speaks local language....just wave and say no and point the security to ask for
Have a deluxe burger at sterlling's restaurant, and if u wanna go for a smoke use the one on the first floor. Enjoy also free wifi, quite slow but still its free :)
If you fly Qatar Airways and have a long transfer, you can get a voucher for a free meal and the meal itself at a cafeteria near gate 7. Wifi is ok, the airport is great for people watching.
Free WIFI + free lunch/dinner (flying with Qatar Airways), if you're staying longer than 5 hours. Ask at the information desk in front of gate 12 for the vouchers. Interesting people... ;)
Oryx lounge is nicer than the silver fancy lounge. Oryx has showers, lounge chairs and computers. Silver is alright for short term but if more than 4 hrs, go Oryx
If you have more than 5 hours to kill here, pop out to Doha. Visa for US citizens is 100 riyals($27). Plus cabs are reasonably priced. Try souk waqif for shopping.
Free Wifi with reliable connection..just skyped with my wife for almost 20 mins... Have quiet zone for sleeping..convenient but a bit dull as nothing much outlets & fun things to kill time
Free wifi network, "DIA". Choppy & unreliable, frustrating even for light browsing, so forget about Skype calls etc. International power outlets at the cubicles with big E sign, next to gold lounge.
Log on to 'WEB' for free wifi. The signal is strongest between Gate 10 and the Sterling Catering Services food court. Power sockets are available at the public phone booths too.
Do not expect aerobridges exist... All transfers done by buses and takes around 15-20 min to arrive at transfer point. Rumor said the new airport will open in june 2014.
There is a free meal at Sterling Catering at the Transfer and Departure terminal for those who have to wait a minimum of 5 hours for their connecting flight.
Free WiFi. No password or code required to connect. Charging terminals opposite Gate 11. Toilets next to the restaurant less crowded. Silent lounge for a nap at end of terminal near Gate 21.
