- EaterFebruary 12, 2013Probably the best sushi you will eat in an airport. Fans are known to arrive extra early or stay late after a flight just to have a taste. Deep Blue on the Fly, next door, offers grab and go options.
- Men's Health MagJanuary 23, 2015This is the work of Chef Michael Schulson. If you have time, order a few courses: "The Crispy Tuna Rice Cracker is a great way to start. They offer some great specialty rolls as well. Read more
- AndreaSeptember 7, 2013I love this place. I get to the airport early just to eat here. Every sushi-related item is delicious. I live the caterpillar and sushi tacos. The great news is they will soon be at terminal 2!
- Patricia LeeMarch 20, 2017A sincere thank you to Jahed at the bar for getting me served before my flight so swiftly and thoughtfully. I've never opted for sushi at an airport but it was a good decision this time!
- Matthew CaldecuttApril 22, 2018They have ramen so it's not just for sushi. But, since they got their start as a sushi spot, you should sample something from that part of the menu
- To fly JetBlue and not set aside an extra hour to belly up to the bar at Deep Blue and order from the sushi chef is to entirely miss the point. Deep Blue is a lifestyle decision one must make.
- Melanie Loff-BirdOctober 16, 2017Spicy Tuna roll is delish ($11). The shrimp appetizer was good but a little over fried
- Agatha Milk 🦕May 10, 2019I like the atmosphere, cozy seats, nice music. Took seafood ramen and pad tai and everything was good and tasty. Ramen is huge. Shrimp is 10/10
- Dan BeresSeptember 12, 2013I have walked by this place so many times...finally stopped.they have 2 kinds of cold sake not on the menu...dragon roll and crunch red ball roll both good....1st time having good sushi in an airport!
- Alex FFebruary 4, 2015Sushi and the miso soup were both delicious. Don't be constricted by the rolls on the menu, they'll make whatever you want!
- Olivia PJune 20, 2013Try the Kampachi (sliced yellowtail, apple slice, pistachios, shisiho peppers and sea salt). Creamy tuna roll is pretty stellar (do not confuse with spicy tuna. better/different than spicy tuna roll).
- Arik Katzenberg KatzenbergNovember 9, 2014Seriously some of the best sushi Ive had in a while. And to think its in the airport. The atmosphere is really comfortable despite everyone rushing for a flight and food is awesome
- Andrew WisemanFebruary 25, 2015Great grub for an airport, though a little more pricey. Plus a funny crew when I went there: guy who claimed to produce Nas and some folks discussing how to ship bootleg purses
- Ms HeleneApril 14, 2015Hot and sour soup is filled with spicy vegetarian goodness $7. They will make any sushi roll you want despite limited menu. Tuna roll $7 with avocado +$3
- M SNovember 27, 2012Flying JetBlue in/out of JFK? Layover? Hungry? The sushi rolls are excellent & priced pretty darn good! Fresh fish, hip decor, & good drinks....good stop.
- Jennifer CzerniakMarch 16, 2011Surprised! Chx Pad Thai was out of this world! Perfect amount of kick to it. Played it safe with sushi and ordered the cucumber/ avocado rolls, both came out fresh/delicious! more venturous next time!
- Chuck ChouJuly 14, 2011Skip the duck ramen. Described as duck confit but it was steak knife tough. Sushi was pricey but excellent. I had the Blue Futo Maki Roll (8pieces) and Maine Lobster Roll (6pieces)
- Chuck ChouJuly 14, 2011Deep Blue Sushi menu created by celebrity chef Michael Schulson, the former executive chef of NYC's highly rated Buddakan restaurant was selected by Frommer's as the best airport restaurant in 2010
- DonTonTingoSeptember 4, 2015So disappointed. Had rock shrimp appetizer which was good. But Service sucked &had the$18 sushi taco trio which was just a bunch of rice & small portions of spicy whatever (no taste) btw fried crap!
- The Corcoran GroupJune 7, 2011Airport Sushi? Yes! The fish is fresh and delicious – try the Dragon Roll or the Rainbow Roll or ask for the waiter’s recommendations. The service can be slow.
- Normandie WilsonFebruary 22, 2013Pad Thai is pretty good!! More fruity and spicy than most places. And a decent sized portion- not too big, not too small.
- I TravelDecember 31, 2014The spicy seafood noodle soup was definitely spicy and delicious. The noodles are more al dente. Yum!
- Wesley VerhoeveOctober 22, 2013Hamachi and sake sashimi are the way to go. Big, gorgeous pieces and so good.
- Maddie MaeOctober 25, 2014Magic Hat #9 is the most drinkable of the bottled brews offered, if you're a real beer drinker.
- Uhhh best airport bar to exist. Excellent and NORMAL priced sushi AND drinks. I just got my winter lager for 6 bucks...
- Jose MercadoMarch 22, 2019How is it that I order a Long Island iced tea and it was $17 each and tasted like lemonade with a splash of lemonade. I say save your money for on flight!
- M JApril 2, 2012The green salad with apples and cucumbers was amazing!! Pad Thai with shrimp was equally impressive. This is not airport food!
- Vincent RodriguezNovember 5, 2011Martinis are good & strong. $14, but good. You can also take your booze in a coffee cup, to the gate. I added iced coffee to my Dewers. Hmmmm...
- Chris WAugust 8, 2013Kobe beef fried rice is great for the non-seafood eaters. Service is remarkably fast--very important for an airport
- Husein HadiNovember 19, 2012Surprisingly large Sake sashimi pieces for $7.5. The shrimp tempira roll was also delicious. Very fresh.
- Raj S.June 9, 2012Not a bad spot but I think they need to pay more attention to little details. I got a spicy tuna roll which was good, but the plate they put it on was really hot...not good.
- Erin Schulte CollierJuly 7, 2013Our waiter was possibly the nicest person I have ever encountered at an airport. And the food was pretty tasty as well.
- Rachel BarbarottaJanuary 20, 2012Surprisingly yummy sushi for an airport. Airport prices for sure though. Get the black cod and Hamachi!
- Robb FitzsimmonsMay 26, 2015Apparently out of nearly everything on Tuesday (all but two wines / beers), which waiter says is "most Tuesdays." What they have seems fine, though, and good for airport food.
- Ana HRDecember 20, 2010Blue Diamond Roll arrives and you think, what did I just pay $18 for? It's actually KIND OF worth it. Super fresh fish, cool presentation.
- Ami H.September 24, 2016Chirashizushi too mediocre for these prices. Tamago was cold, watery, barely thawed. Sushi rice was too warm and starchy. Bleh combo. However, service, atmosphere, and tunes were good.
- Amy WagnerSeptember 15, 2011Obviously not the best sushi in NYC but definitely the best place to eat while waiting for your flight in Terminal 5.
