Volkan BayramJuly 18, 2015Church is being renovated.You can see three corridors outside the church. Figures on the wall and ceiling are beatiful. I recommend you to buy the book to understand what those figures means.
Sophie BakalarSeptember 21, 2015Beautiful little church away from all the tourist attractions in Istanbul. Great examples of Byzantine art and mosaics. It's very tiny though; only three rooms to tour during renovations.
Hazal ErolApril 7, 2017If you have a chance, I recommend you to visit this museum with a tour guide. (If you find a cheapest one of course) It is worth to listen the story behind the fresco and mosaics.
Just amazing and peaceful like u r actually in the 'chora'! Very well protected late-period Byzantine art base on La Madonna which is pretty rare to find. RIP Methokites †
E YSeptember 18, 2020Before going,check Serif Yenen’s virtual tour video on YouTube so you will know whole story of frescoes inside.Currently turning to a mosque,a mihrab has been brought but frescoes are open for now
