This castle took 30 years to complete, and it's huge. Get the guided tour and sample reservewines & do a barrel tasting! Add on a chocolate pairing for only $5 more. One of the best tours we went on.
Large, lovely winery. While it can get very, very crowded, the $25 entrance fee (which includes tastings of 4-5 wines) is quite a good value compared to many in the area. Beautiful castle setting.
If ur just visiting and not a wine enthusiast this is a great place to visit.. 35USD for a tour inside the castle and brewery and 5 wines to taste.. We love the area and scenery is beautiful!
Wow! I can't say how magnificent this place is. It's big outside and even bigger underground. You have to do the tour here and don't forget to call to make a reservation. The tour is so worth it!!!
You must do the tour! This place is so romantic, beautiful photos everywhere! Our guide Damian Uriarte was FANTASTIC! Funny and full of information! The wines are delicious and grape juice to die for!
The guided tour and reserve tasting is awesome. We came here in the end of November and was lucky enough to have a private tour because it was just us. Jamie aka Mario was amazing as our guide!
Tourist trap but beautiful location and the wines weren’t the best but also not bad. Our wine connoisseur, Ashley, was amazing and so sweet! She made the experience great.
The first stop on the wine trolley and the tour was included. Make sure to ask for Chris to give you the tour. He is very knowledgable and a great tour guide.
Good wine and amazing views. The castletour is worth the price. A must-see in Napa. Getting the passport is also worth it to save money on tastings from several wineries.
Take the Calistoga shuttle for $1 or free from Calistoga hotels. Download the “ride the vine app” to schedule a pickup to all Calistoga wineries including the Castle. Way more efficient than Uber
The view is amazing. I love the sweet wines especially the La Fantasia. My daughter loved the grape juice as well. Next time, we'll do the full tour and visit the dungeon =)
Ensure that you seek out Patrick as your host for your tasting. He went above and beyond for our group and paired deep knowledge with a fantastic personality and warmness.
So worth the trip. Beautiful views, good staff & good tastings. And wait, what? A torture chamber?!?! Crazy & fun. Did I mention the views?? & the goid wines? Would love to come back.
The property and castle are huge. Gets a bit crowded but definitely upgrade to a premium tasting. Staff is knowledgable. Wines are decent albeit expensive. Scenic and romantic.
The castle and tasting room are pretty cool - very picturesque. Unless you are really wanting a tour, just get the tasting tickets and walk the ground yourself with the map they give you.
This castle is as cool on the inside as the outside. Some wine snobs don't care for the Disneyland-ish facade, but unless your a super snob you'll likely enjoy the extravagant architecture.
The “General Admission” ticket is kind of a mixed bag, access to many interesting areas is restricted to guided tours, however the wine tasting (choose 5 out of ca 20) itself is a good experience.
When doing the wine tasting with your spouse, be sure to choose different wines to taste. They give you the option of giving a splash for each one. After trying 10 different wines we were very happy!
More touristy. ..they sell bunch of tourist crap..but castle is nice and very interesting. .bunch of tasting areas with head set/microphone on tasting staff.some cool animals and odd looking chickens.
