Many people mistakenly-pronounce the town's name as "ah-VEE-lah" given the name's Spanish origin. However, the correct Spanish pronunciation is "AH-vee-luh"

Eat at the Avila Market and Deli. It's not just a deli. A variety of good food. Then head to Mr. Ricks. for a drink on the patio.

Not my thing. Very crowded. Cookie cutter beach houses and hotels. Fun shopping though. But just that. Junk tourist crap.
