Serious Eats: One of the classic New York steakhouses, with a fine burger available at lunch. Be aware: cash only.

Serious Eats: Some of the city's top pizza, Neapolitan in spirit but New York in execution. The restaurant's other items are also very strong, including great bread and burgers.

Oonline: Eating here is an experience! Chef Ramirez & crew work hard. Dishes & decorum are top notch. It is worth the $165 (BYOB). But, don't expect a warm welcome. Chatting w/ the Chef is not on the menu.

Serious Eats: Few scoop shops in this city make ice cream as good—and as fun—as Ample Hills. On your first visit, definitely try some Salted Crack Caramel.

[Princess]: Spectacular view of Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge, especially at night. Perfect place to take a stroll or ponder. Of course, don't forget to bring your camera!

The Wall Street Journal: Starting in July 2010, the park's Pier 1 will have vendors serving tacos, crab rolls, wine, beer, and ice cream. (The city will make about $120,000 a year from the deal.) Read more.
