The gnocchi is amazing; ask to sub it in the Pappardelle Al Ragu Di Vitello. Favorite wine there is the Montepulciano D'Abruzzo.
Delicious wine and cheese selections. If you get there before 7 try the bubbly flight. Pan seared duck is my favorite. Finish with house moscato and nutella cake dessert,
So much truffle *drool* on the menu. Gnocchi was incredible. Try and get seated in the garden at the back if you can - feels like you're in West Village, not UES.
Matsu is a good option for the mid-priced range sushi places on the upper east side. Hidden away bet. 1st and York. Lot of creative and interesting rolls. The sushi by piece is pretty good as well.
No "ick" factor & more quality-finds than most. Our fave UES "Hood 'Haunt!" w/ flow of incoming donations / higher-end items: clothes, bags, artwork, furniture, dishware, etc. Helps HIV/AIDS cause!
Butter Ckn Tikka Masala was in a tasty & light sauce; Saag Paneer too salty; Naan was thin & not too dense; Cauliflower too vinegary &undercooked. If only seating was less cramped & in brighter space!

If you're hungry and with another friend, the Madhatter is the best deal for you. You get two sandwiches, three scones, two pots of tea and dessert for $23/person!
Get the French toast. Scones are fluffy and awesome, too. And if you like floral tea, you have to try the house tea blend.
AMAZING Eggs Benedict and French Toast! This will definitely be a regular spot to take my family and friends when they come to visit.

Delicious artisanal cakes by the slice in an ethereal setting. The cheesecake is the star attraction. The crepe cakes and strawberry shortcake are also outstanding.

Appetizers are good, but don't waste that precious stomach space. Portions are huge. You can always get Apfelstrüdel for dessert.
If you get a schnitzel, get the paprika sauce. Delicious and totally worth the extra dollar.
The best pork chop they used to have as a signature menu is now called 'Lemongrass Pork Shoulder' and the number is 44 on the menu. Still awesome.

Fantastic food -- try the cactus fries or avocado salad -- one side comes with meal which is a lovely bonus. We had fish tacos and chicken torta -- they get the bread fresh daily from local bakery.
Great food and atmosphere!! Guacamole and the Ceviche were excellent as well as the fish tacos! Will be coming back for sure!!
Skip the sushi and go for speciality dishes such as the fake pastas made from seafood (uni cauliflower pasta), uni risotto, & beef fois sukiyaki. Great Austrian dessert wine! Bad selection of teas.
The restaurant is inside Gagosian Gallery. Along with traditional sushi and entrees, you find some unique stuff like fish pasta. Desserts all have slight Japanese twist!
The creamy Half uni shell (I would share this dish) beef sukiyaki, and Peking duck foie gras tacos were standouts
Best Asian fusion fast food in the area! Love the Kobeyaki burger w/ teriyaki sauce, grilled teriyaki chicken or beef bowls, udon noodle soup, & sweet potato fries w/ wasabi mayo & teriyaki ketchup!
Happy that a Taiwanese boba (bubble) tea + SHAVED ICE shop finally made it to UES! M's White Peach Green Tea & my Lychee Black Tea Slushee w/ lychee jelly tasted great (healthier than boba)!
Decent sushi-better than other UES Chinese-owned spots. Toro scallion roll was pretty fresh-not best. Why it's pricier than Yasuda's is beyond me! Cooked items are bland/average. No A/C + club music?!
Best Neapolitan pizza in the UES - my fave is the Diavola (w/ spicy Spressata)! Their red sauce, eggplant (Parmigiana Di Melanze), & Rigatoni Alla Bolognese are my other craves!
I'd lose a fortune & gain a ton if I lived any closer...The most heavenly, delicate macarons have arrived from Paris to NYC: orange blossom, rose & ginger, blackcurrant violet, & many more.
Absolute fave: French Onion soup!! ;9 Choucroute is also good. Had Steak Frites w/ both Au poivre & red wine sauces on side-both great but I prefer the wine sauce. SKIP Les Halles & come here!

Gluten-free heirloom tomato and zucchini lasagna with cashew ricotta is to die for! Great staff, great atmosphere a definite must try for any vegan/vegetarian new yorker!

Steamed veggie dumplings had a nice filling. Skins were nice & thin. Dumplings tasted good but didn’t seem homemade & possibly frozen & out of a bag- the way a lot of average Chinese joints do it.

Bolognese pasta was ok but more al dente, thicker & saltier than most. Sauce had no depth & lil’ meat. Seafood wasn’t good. Pricey for small portion. Prefer pasta from San Matteo’s & miss Maroni’s!
We loved their gelato! Chocolate was intense so you may want to order one scoop for starters:) Cheesecake is also delicious🍰🍰
Pain de Gruyere = to die for. Your mouth won't know what to do except smile :) Get a loaf to go if the bakery line isn't too long. If so, you can buy at the table at restaurant price for $0.50 more.
Best Baguette: baguette Monge-slightly swollen at middle & slender at tips, crackly outer crust yielding to a moist, almost damp crumb...tastes buttery w/o butter, rich & complex w. a subtle tang.
Delicious French pastries. Obviously the chocolate croissant is a must, but the Yuzu pastry is also good!
Chocolate almond croissants were some of the best I've ever had, not too heavy or oily. We had lunch - salad was good, salmon was amazing.

Decent fried chickens and various versions of hot dogs that hit the spot! There is a seating area along with beer on tap inside, and one of the staffs last time was super friendly.
Vietnamese pork chop (Suon Nuong) was prepared well in ample portion. Food here is less salty than other Vietnamese places, so I was very satisfied with it.
Finally got the chicken sandwich and was quite delicious, hot and crunchy, plenty of sauce and full of flavour!!! Def better than your hate-filled Chick-fil-a chicken sandwiches
