I'm still full from the amazing chicken dinner, and I ate it two days ago. ;) Great food, great staff. Plenty of seating, so don't let a line deter you.
Literally been coming my entire life. My parents intro me as a baby. I passed it to my kids and hopefully they will too. A Michigan tradition. Especially great at Christmas 🎄
Love the family style chicken dinner! The homemade jam is excellent as is the buttered noodles and of course the chicken! Birthday dessert is excellent! Our server Heather was great!!! 👍❤️👍
Weekend buffet is good if you don’t want to spring for the all you can eatchicken dinner. Cant get enough of the home madechicken soup nor the liver pate. Pepsi products.
Torri was our waitress - great service. Excellent food. After 61 years apart my brothers & sisters reunited for the first time with a dinner here at Zenders.
Buy a family pack and eat at the Z-Cafe. It takes less time and is far less expensive than the upstairs but the same great food. Get dessert from the bakery and be sure to try a Napoleon.
Chicken dinner for 4 for takeout from the Z Cafe downstairs is a good deal. Just beware that their service might be slipping a bit when it's really busy; they need a devoted pickup area.
This is the best chicken in the area. Key word area. Definitely not like the South but good. Nice flaky crispy batter on the chicken. Can't go wrong with the all you can eat deal.
Eat upstairs for lunch. prices about the same but you get a nicer atmosphere. The quesadilla was really good. The wings were horrible. If you want chicken just get the chicken dinner.
The chicken dinner is mediocre to okay. But the ambiance and oddity of the place make up for it. All you can eatchicken. It's a time capsule of late 80s early 90s culture.
The bakery is the best part. We always buy extra for family and friends. The coffecake freeze great, cut into serving sizes and freeze for a quick taste of Frankenmuth.
Normally, the service is not bad, but tonight, our server took way to long and it took us 2 hours due to this bad service. I will be back, but tonight was just super bad. Not up to normal standards.
The chicken dinner was not great but not terrible either. Overall with all the sides included with our meals and the amazing service I would give it about a 7 out of 10.
Hospitality abounds with traditional family style chicken dinners and tantalizing breads and pastries in the world-famous Zehnder's of Frankenmuth restaurant. Dinners range from $15 to $21, with kid's portions available. Open seven days a week.
