Perfect place to spend a sunny day, don't miss the chance to enter the wind mills and enjoy the beautiful views. It's a must if you wanna get a taste of Holland, but be aware that is quite touristic.
This place is worth visiting, many little shops, museums, windmills, nice views for perfect shots. Goats and ducks, chocolate, cheese and souvenirs... Love this place.
A must-go place, only 20 minute from Amsterdam. Beautiful view! You can explore a windmill inside, rent a bike, prove some delicious cheese, or just walk... Lovely place!
Best museum to explore and experience the old Netherlands lifestyle and enjoy the land mark of Air Fans and enjoy the visit of ChocolateFactory and Shopping some natural products like cheese
A must-go place, only 20 minute from Amsterdam. Beautiful view! You can explore a windmill inside, rent a bike, prove some delicious cheese, or just walk. Lovely place!❤
Visit a piece of art history. Fascinating to experience the birth of the reds, blues and yellows that have shaped European ArtA great, working mill with an interesting story. Definitely worth a visit.
Windmills are beautiful and just that. The rest: infinite ways to take money from you with cheesy entertainment. €4,00 to look inside ONE windmill? And there's a lot of new stuff passing for heritage.
great area with some great windmills and great displays. The authentic old village is really good too and very interesting. The staff are very informative and interesting. Plenty of things to see
Awesome day trip from Amsterdam. Take bus 391 from Amsterdam Centraal. Windmills and river that gives a feel of old Holland. Almost perfect place on a sunny day!
Perfection! It's close to Amsterdam and you can see traditional wooden houses, gardens, bridges, and windmills operating! You can explore one and drink hot chocolate in it. I didn't want to leave..
In the summer months, you can cross the river Zaan with a small ferry. It shuttles between Zaandijkersluis (Lagedijk, Zaandijk) and the windmill Bonte Hen on the Zaanse Schans.
Recommend driving & spending a few hours here. Charming stores - slightly crowded in the afternoon. If you go via tour. The stops can be rather hurried.
Windmills, one of the first things come to one's mind when you hear Holland. Zaanse Schans is one of the most popular places where you can get a postcard picture of windmills and not travel too long. Read more
The working sawmill was awesome! We stopped there on a bustour and didn't have enough time to linger, explore or shop the area. Needed more than an hour.
