A bit of a secret this one for a roof top bar with close up views of the Empire State. Take the lift in the hotel to the top floor. The hotel is in K-town, so you'll feel relatively calm and at home.
The perfect rooftop escape that is still manages to be a well-kept secret. On the 14th floor of the La Quinta hotel serving outdoor drinks and views of the Empire State Building.
Cool rooftop in Koreatown that is very not Korean. A little small and there is a long line for the bar. You'll strain your neck looking up at the Empire State Building.
Want the view? Go around the block on 33rd and crane your neck back look straight up the side of the Empire State building from the street you have the same view. The deck is boxed in by wooden walls.
The best part of this place is that you have to go through the lobby of a La Quinta Inn in Korea Town to get to it. Just hit the top floor on the elevator, and then BAM rooftop bar.
DO NOT GO HERE! This place is dingy and dirty and the one bathroom is filthy. Drinks aren't cheap and the staff is rude and nasty. Lame view as well. Go to the Metro on w 35th St, it's way better.
Vu Bar is a cozy home away from home that just happens to be underneath the sky--and with prices you won't find at any other rooftop bars in Manhattan.
