Nice garden with a lot of roses in the city center. Good place to chill out or to have a romanticpicnic. But sometimes crowds of people make strong noise and it spoils the perfection of this place.
I quite enjoyed the walk around the year's end of roses, which peppered the garden with thorny resilience. A military helicopter passed overhead and scattered the sparrows that danced in the fountain.
Once it was the private garden of Emperor Franz Joseph I., now it is a nice place to relax after sightseeing. If you are a fan of the Empress Sisi, you should not miss the Sisi Monument!

the HofburgPalace, was laid out by Ludwig Remy in 1821The park was built over the city fortifications that were destroyed by Napoleon in1809. The Volksgarten was opened to the public in 1823.
Ich bin sehr gerne hier, da man schön entspannen kann auf einer der zahlreichen Grasflächen. Es gibt ein, zwei Cafés für den schnellen Durst. Ruhige Atmosphäre und sehr gepflegte Umgebung.

Der Volksgarten wurde von 1819-1907 in mehreren Etappen im Auftrag Kaiser Franz I und Franz Joseph I durch L. von Remy, Franz Antoine und F. Ohmann gestaltet. Er gehört heute zu den 7 Bundesgärten, die dem Bundesministerium für Land- und Forstwirtschaft, Umwelt und Wasserwirtschaft unterstellt sind.
