Have a print-out of your itin handy to show security, which is before you get to the check-in counters. Uber is easily the cheapest and most hassle-free option (compared to taxis and hotel shuttles)
hash London Essence is newly opened at the transit cafes & restaurants, I liked the cheese cake .. Very nice service, I highly recommend :) connect to VIP internet, it's the best
After crossing the passport officers, you will find the duty free shops where you can find many international brands.Beside that there are western and oriental resturants. Many fast food rest are there.
Get your entry and exit stamp ready all times for faster transit. Duty free in departure is cheap and have good varities of perfumes. Nice dining areas and clean, modern terminal (3)
Customer service representatives are friendly and willing to provide information. By the way, some Egyptian offices made some practical jokes that are unacceptable. Ex. Touch our body.
has gotten better over the years. make sure to arrive a couple of hours early, bring change to tip everyone. average selection of food & beverages at the lounges, solid duty free and coffee shops.
Visa on arrival is really easy, they ask you how many you want, you pay the money, and they give you the stickers. You even put the sticker in your passport yourself! 🪪
Better to pay a VIP service to get you through security/visa line. $20 or so. Remember to bring cash for Visa $10. And have a driver booked to pick you up in advance.
Many security checks & everyone asking to see your passport. But cleanairport with limited food options. In arrival book Uber/Careem it is cheaper & ask them to pick you up from the airport gate.
Cairo's newest terminal, much better than the other two old ones. Apart from the ultra lousy access to the parking lot, it is fine. Free WiFi on Orange, done ATMs and a coffee shop.
If you've got a long lay over, the Star Alliance lounge is 200EGP and comes with fresh coffee and snacks. A great place to relax pre-flight with working Internet and comfortable seating.
Use Careem to/from airport: ~120EGP. Arrive at least 2 hrs early. Smoking allowed in most cafes. Strange order of events (security, checkin, customs, boarding gate, security, board yourself). Not bad.
Security at check in and then security at the gates as well. Can be either a very painless and fast process or a very long and time sapping immigration queues. Dedicated to Egypt Air...
Pretty awful airport. Reasons are as follows. 1.No places to sit 2.No plug points. 3.No star alliance silver lounges 4.You can't purchase entrance to gold star lounges during peak times 5.Wifi dc's.
In terminal 1, free but not so reliable wi-fi everywhere. Starbucks and McDonald's are upstairs. Don't let anyone help you unless you want to give tips to just about any employee in the terminal.
If you need internet connection and the one named "FreeAirportWifi" does not work, go to first floor to Puro Gusto caffè and use VIP-WIFi for free, unlimited time.
Get there early enough to go through several security checks where you have to remove all electronics from your luggage. Carry a pen to fill out the mandatory immigration form.
30 minutes of free WiFi (requiring a working phone that can receive a text abroad) in this era where you have to arrive at the airport hours early is not exactly generous...
Arriving at departures is still a manic experience where you run the gauntlet of cars, men hanging around and security at the gap in the ad-hoc erected fence.
A spacious, modern airport equipped with all amenities, but reaching it via the express line requires a longer time, especially for this terminal No. 2.
A newish airport with spacious business lounge for all airlines ( except Saudi) Serves mostly dried up sandwiches and some people who may make you coffee.
Arrive early. Security is intense and time consuming. Bags scanned upon arrival at airport -> Customs (long)-> Security (all children patted down) -> Gate (bags \ body searched at gate).
Free WiFi on the 3rd floor of Terminal 1 departures and an English pub with smoking allowed. Clean, tidy, well done Egypt. Be careful of airportstaff, they help only for a "baksheesh" (tip)
Make sure you did the web check-in before and you have a printedvoucher. Otherwise the officer will take you time before you find the company office to do the check-in.
The feeling I had is that it is not prepared to receive so many tourists, the exit from the baggage area is chaotic and the exit from T3 is regrettable, there is a lot of harassment from taxi drivers.
This place is a rat race in ways that supersede other airports like the mentality of the workers and passengers. Exhausting before you even board your flight. #travel #Cairo
Some signage is in reverse and one inside out! Follow the signs for "Airport Lounges" upstairs and you will come to Only Saudi Airlineslounge. Now you know
