The Azalea Garden isn't just beautiful in spring! Featuring nearly a mile of woodlands paths and one of NYBG's most spectacular vistas, the Azalea Garden is beautiful year round.
A beautiful place to visit. Go for a relaxing walk & take in the scenery of 1 million plants on 250 acres. Be sure to bring the family & take lots of pics. Also check out the Rose Garden & Orchid Show
the Holiday Train Show is awesome for kids and adults alike but come early to beat the crowds. most every historical building and bridge in NYC is recreated to painstaking detail from plant materials.
I was born in NY and I live in NJ now. I have been to the Bronx zoo as a kid & took my daughter as an adult on a school bus. No one ever mentioned the beauty of the NY Botanical Garden. This is a GEM!
Always love it here. The Frida show is a little disappointing if you've visited her home /museum in Mexico City. Nevertheless the gardens are so splendid, you're just thrilled you made the schlep!!
The NYBG is literally a fairy tale! So dreamlike it can legitimately pass for some mythical place in a Disney movie! Tons of beautiful forestry/plant life you won't even feel like you're in the Bronx!
After viewing the Frida Kahlo exhibit (which smashed attendance records for NYBG) I signed up for membership! Lovely grounds, informative staff, good restaurant. Going back for train show!
The main sections are cool and all, but the main reason for the visit here was for Chilluly glass exhibit - it set throughout the Garden was so cool and uniquely fit right in, beautiful glass art!!!
First visit was for the holiday train show - really impressive collection of NY landmarks and the level of detail is incredible. Great for kids just remember this is a see and not touch exhibit.
Awesome nature escape in the city. Very quick trip on metro north from grand central. On the weekends, get the city ticket ($4.50 one way). Def an nyc must see.
This is a beautiful area to relax and look and all the beautiful flowers and plants:-). I've been here on a school trip and it was absolutely stunning. Even if it's raining it beautiful 😂😂
truly a gem hiding in plain sight within the vastness of this crowdedcity. well-maintained, frequently upgraded, with plenty of acres for strolling, breathing, observing, listening to the elements.
Thain Family Forest boasts a magnificent waterfall: Take BridgeTrail for an up-close look, peering underneath the bridge to see trees gnawed by beavers, or get an aerial view from MillViewTrail. Read more
Bring walking shoes and plan a day around this "forest in the hood". Lots of areas to explore. Lookout for chipmunks, grass snakes, w/ an occasional cyote that has been spotted before! Do the tram!
NYGB is an amazing, very special place -- worth a visit in any weather! If you have the chance, walk the native foresttrail. Wind through the original woods before it became the Bronx. Fascinating!
excellent spot to get out of the city and some beauty. the Orchid Show is naturally a highlight in the Spring. take the tram ride around the garden - educational and fun.
It is so beautiful here. And so annoying to be in the middle of natural beauty and never leave asphalt. There is so much grass, let us walk on it! Also, $18 parking 😱
I love the entire garden and the some of the people that work there are so charming and funny. The reason for my most recent trip was the Chihuly glass exhibit, marvelous!!
Do you need ideas and plant suggestions for your own garden? The Home Gardening Center has dozens of beautiful display beds full of our horticulturists' favorite plants and helpful advice.
Great park! Perfect day trip with family and friends. Currently on expo: frida kahlos casa azul and a few selected paintings. Entrance fee a bit steep at $25, 10% discount if you pay with mastercard.
Come as early as you can! Start with the tram tour because it gets busy as the day goes on. Then work your way through the Haupt building and the library!
Whether you're going for a run or just getting a nature break away from the busy city, this is the perfect place to go. It's also free if you go on Wednesday, Sunday morning or if you're running.
Beautiful and exotic plants in the middle of the concrete jungle. Must go during the holidays for Christmas trees, Bar Car Nights and the Holiday Train Show
Newyork #1 attraction! Don't miss it if you like the nature. İn spring you can see the cherryblossoms, rose gardens in summer.. Best botanical garden i visited.
Stop and smell the roses at The New York Botanical Garden, which boasts 50 gardens and plant collections across 250 acres. Seasonal exhibitions take place inside this landmark NYC glasshouse.
in the summer check out The Edible Garden, food demos and celebrity chefs' gardens, a visual treat! see photos at: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=184333&id=765634189&l=399434109d
Free, unlimited year-round admission to the Botanical Garden grounds, conservatory, and all specialty gardens and tram tour for all Bloomberg employees and up to 5 guests.
Not only is it a beautiful botanical garden, but they’ve got a pretty sweet Farmer's Market too. Stop in on Saturdays to load up on green goodies for home. (Or an impromptu picnic on their lawn.)
The holiday train show is a nice exhibit, lots of intricate details. But not sure that it's really the best exhibit for kids. Super crowded on the weekends.
You don't need the VIP $20 ticket.... Just get the regular grounds only pass. Then buy the tram ticket solo for only $2. Trust me best two bucks spent! You can view the entire garden while sitting!
