Sanibel Sam: This lighthouse is unlike your usual. More like an oil derrick with a light on top. Renovated in 2013 to its original beauty from 1880s. The symbol of Sanibel.
Sanibel Sam: Bring a mesh bag or small bucket to hold your shelling finds. A small plastic bag is great for the tiny beautiful shells you find along the high tide line. Remember: Its the journey, not the shells.
Sanibel Sam: Condos in bldg "I" have living & dining rooms that face the beautiful pool & gardens. Bedrooms face thick wall of palms - very nice. 1st floor units have ZERO steps-parking into condo. All remodeled.
Sanibel Sam: You could easily spend days looking thru all their items. Antiques, old post cards - something for everyone in every price range. Stay away from the Golly Green Giant, almost have my wife convinced
Sanibel Sam: #Sanibel #Lighthouse is an easy one mile beach walk to the left facing the water. You frequently see dolphins playing just off shore from Sanibel Arms West all the way to the Lighthouse.

Sanibel Sam: One of two bike rental ships on Sanibel. They are located at Periwinkle & Palm Ridge Road behind the Wings store. Not easy to find, lower prices than Billy's & Finnimore's may have better bikes.
Sanibel Sam: Talk to the owner. Tell her what books you have read & liked, she can recommend other authors to try. Also try the local #Sanibel authors-there are many to choose between. Love Sanibel Flats by White.
Sanibel Sam: Maximum birds at low tide either early morning or late afternoon. The slower you go the more you will usually see. Patience. Some days you're only going to see the beautiful trees. This ain't Disney.
