- If youre going to take the train understand etiquette. If ppl are waiting on the platform before you dont jump in front of them when doors open. Also dont sit in the quiet car if you cant keep quiet!

- Need an power outlet? The newer Metrolink cars have them spread out among the seats. Look for the cars with silver-colored exterior that don't have lots of bolts (as in nuts 'n bolts).

- Metropolitan Lounge now open for business/sleeper class. Go past the Amtrak ticket counter, go to 2nd floor. Lounge is on your left. Smokers can smoke in 'privacy' opposite Lounge entrance. Rejoice!
- Follow Metro LA Alerts (@metrolaalerts) and Metrolink (@metrolink) on twitter for live updates. Every now and then, there can be stupid long delays.
- Not as nice as the Union Stations on the East Coast and there is no Amtrak Lounge for sleeping car passengers pre-departure. Amtrak to San Diego, New Orleans, Chicago, Chicago via Houston and Seattle!

- The front door is only the halfway mark in your hike to the train or bus. Go through the waiting room & down the tunnel for Metrolink and Amtrak, as well as the buses at the Patsaouras Transit Plaza.
