Mint tea and magic bar were perfect. The bar is a delicious combo of coconut, chocolate and peanut butter! Nice seating by the window on a beautiful day for reading and people watching.
Just incredible. Love this place. Great vibe, the menu has so many amazing items, they serve counter culture coffee and the people are great. My new favorite place in DC, hands down.
There's this pizza that has pesto, butternut squash, goat cheese & honey. Not too heavy, fills you up just enough. Weds is 50% off wine bottles, so grab a friend a split a bottle of bubbly for $8/ea.
New Tryst specials every night of the week, including student specials on Sundays, 50% off bottles of wine on Wednesdays, & a special Tiki menu on Thursdays.
Very hip, trendy cafe-style restaurant with great coffee, excellent healthy food options, and a pretty decent beer selection as well. Wifi is free. Big couches w/ coffee tables or regular tables.

Hip as fuck, but yet to have a bad meal there. Kudos especially to the Thai chicken soup & butternut squashflatbread! Sandwiches and boozy drinks pretty reliable too.
Great environment! Latte was really delicious and the food was good as well. Lots of comfy seating, free wifi, and patio as well. Definitely a spot you could bring a laptop and work for an hour or so!
Coffee bar by day where you can hang out with your laptop. Barbar by night where you can hang out with your friends. Cool and cozy doesn’t get better than this. Read more
Best/coolest coffee shop in dc to hangout in. Has a very eclectic vibe where you could go there on a date, socialize with a group of friends, or just a solo study/work sesh.
Open when you need it most. Great breakfast selection and pastries. Try the lebneh baguette. If you don't want to be alone go with your laptop (but no wifi during weekends, time to socialize!)
Tryst has a good selection of muffins, bagels and pastries for breakfast and soup, salad, sandwiches, and wraps for lunch and snacks for the afternoon munchie attacks. Read more
My favorite weeknight study spot. A comfy hideaway in Adams Morgan. The lighting the live bandgraham crackers next to my warm chai tea & nachos locos on my lap if Im feeling crazy. Alwys on point. Go
A great, relaxed atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised by the new seating (more sofas). The coffee and expression drinks are well made and the food is simple but tasty. I <3 this place.
Great, casual ambiance. You can read a book, chat with friends or get a bite to eat at any time during the day. It's a perfect location for all of these things.
This vegan treat is delicious - Description from their menu: CHOCOLATE SILKTOFUTARTOreo crust topped with a "GANACHE" made from tofu and fine bittersweet chocolateliqueur and agave.
Ask for the lavenderhot chocolate with two shots of espresso. You get the delicious hot chocolate balanced with just enough caffeine to get your morning started.
grace sandwich, masala chai, love that some beverages come with animal crackers, etc. & awesome ambiance - very comfortable with couches, etc. and you get to seat yourself!
Great atmosphere for caffeine fix, bkfast, lunch, drinks... Ok just about everything :) Book a Taxi Magic ride by selecting Tryst as your pickup or around the corner on Mintwood if 18th is bustlin!
Good place for food, coffee and drinks but if you need wifi make sure to ask if they have it on. Sundays it isn't on until after 4pm and they often turn it off for random "holiday weekends".
If you need to "get some work done" this cool coffee house/bar is a nice place to relax and work on your laptop. Crowded in the afternoon, so bring a charged laptop so you won't need an outlet.
If you've come to work, you need to buy something in the first 15 minutes of your visit. But the Internet access is reliable and it has a great atmosphere. One of my favorite places to work.
I truly enjoy this place and its atmosphere, but if you’re in a hurry, it’s best to go somewhere else that is less crowded and has faster service. Otherwise, sit back, relax, and enjoy.
The atmosphere is amazing and the internet is reliable. If you want your coffee in a paper cup though, you better mention that when you order or else you'll get a "proper" mug.
The new patio is great for people watching whilst snacking on great food and imbibing on great drinks! Love this place! (Full disclosure: I also work here)
Lavenderhot chocolate is good. Big space, generally you can find seating, but outlets are limited. No wifi on weekends. Music (hip-hop/rap the couple times I came here) is on the louder side
Unless you're to-go, seat yourself; someone will serve you. My latte was good, but the service was great. Lots of people working on computers. WiFi password right now is bloodymary.
I like this place. Great cappuccino, not a fan of animal crackers but OK the idea is kinda cool. Good for morning coffee, to work/wifi, relax and the food is good;)
I always have an issue connecting to the Internet. So I always restart my laptop when I'm on the premises and it works fine. Password changes regularly .
Monday night jazz - when John Lee makes a rare appearance - is sweet. If Tryst just hadn't jacked up their prices & cut portions by 1/3 then it just might have been the perfect chill spot.
Try the PestoOrzo - The small salads at Tryst are phenomenal. If you want a bigger one, the chefs will make it to order - and install it in a wrap if you like
