Our servers Tami & Joe were both pleasant, knowledgeable & prompt. Our dinners came perfect and piping hot. We also ordered dessert to go as we were stuffed and couldn't eat another bite at the table.
Tropical Acres is a guaranteed great meal from start to finish. The bread is always fresh and warm, the salads are fresh and crisp, they make the best martinis, and the seafood is superb.
Went for the Early Bird Dinner and what a value! For the price of the entree you get soup, salad, entree, a side, drink, dessert and sour dough rolls. I had the TuscanTbone and it was incredible.
It was a very nice find. Enjoyed the food, old school ambience (afterall they are celebrating 70 years), friendly staff and excellent food!By the way For 32.00 there porter house steak is out of sight
Best steak in South Florida. I had the 26oz NY Strip and it was perfectly cooked. Prices are 40% cheaper than most other high-end steak restaurants. Tropical Acres is so old it is unique.
Absolutely love this place. The food is great, the service is great, the value is great. One of my "go to" places for an occassion. My favorite is the rack of lamb. Love the place.
Always great service and the meat selections are always superb. Caymus is priced amazingly cheap for resturant goers and the piano playing adds a touch of class to an ole school dining experience.
Great Steak restaurant that won't break the bank! Great service, one of the owners comes to the table every time and is genuinely concerned that everything is perfect. Steaks are cooked perfectly
Been a patron of Tropical for over 25 years. Consistently good food & service! Bartender Tom makes Happy Hour an event all the time! Gorgonzolatoast a real favorite! Steaks and Prime top of the line!
The special filet was in my top lifetime 3, the lobster tails were outstanding. There were two servers for my table & one was the grandson of the founder. you could see the pride he took in the meal.
This place was sooo good! Visited Fort Lauderdale for my sister in laws birthday and was pleasantly surprised. It has the feel and class from an old school steak house which made me feel at home. .
First visit & experienced the friendliest wait staff along with the host. My steak was prepared exactly the way it was ordered. The salad was fresh, & the piano player was a nice addition to the meal.
Found this restaurant through a Google search and am so glad that I did. Best place for surf and turf I've ever eaten. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks for the great service too.
FIRST TIME HERE TONIGHT..I HAD THR SURF N TURF AND IT WAS DELISH...MY SON HAD THE CHICKEN FINGERS AND THEY WERE GOOD AND MEATY..THE SERVICE WAS GREAT TOO!!! BE BACK SOON
Spent a weekend in Ft. Lauderdale and went to Tropical Acres at the recommendation of our hotel. Classic steak and seafood house with excellent service, sublime steaks and fish
Their food is always fantastic...if you go there, you must get the salad w/gorgonzola dressing....really special treat! Very professional & knowledgeablewait staff...old Florida charm decor
I've been getting awards here since the early 70's. I'm so glad they're still around. Sorry, yes my 15 yr. Lifetime Honor Society Pin came from last month but we're back every month for the food.
Always a great meal, the steaks are tender and nice sized, the lobster special is great even when your date eats 1/2. best value for the best steaks in south fl.
The place was packed, and the food and service were excellent. I've since gone back at least 3 or 4 times a year to satisfy my need for its old Fort Lauderdale look and style.
Tropical Acres is my favorite place to go get a good authenticsteak. The service is great, all of the staff are really nice! Great place to go eat! I highly recommend it.
I first visited Tropical Acres before I had even moved to Florida in 1987 ..... Have had many a Family event here throughout the years .... their Steaks are always the Best one can get ....
Stellar service from bartenders Sharon and Tom. Enjoyed good house wine and great appetizers. The fried mozzarella was from fresh (not frozen sticks) and a perfect house-made marinara.
I am new to the area. Went with new friends and our first encounter was with the bartender. He was fun, courteous, and professional, making our experience a very positive one!
Among other items, there’s petite filet mignon, cowboy steak, crowned chopped sirloin and baked stuffed shrimp. - http://flmag.com/restaurant-guide/tropical-acres-steakhouse#sthash.nkvReNma.dpuf
I have been dining at Tropical Acres for over 25 years & have never had a bad experience. It's a wonderful family owned restaurant that not only cares for it's customers but also it's dedicated staff.
A very nice place with retro style and elegance, along with old fashioned decor and service style. Steak seasoning is a bit bold for me, but it still tasted great.
If you haven't had a chance to visit Tropical Acres, think about visiting during happy hour. They have great bar specials and Tommy the bartender treats his guests like royalty.
While on vacations stopped at the restaurant for dinner. Ambiance was very nice and relaxing with a piano player. The Ceasar salad and the onion toasts were delicious.
We had the LOBSTER SPECIAL tonite at Tropical Acres. It is a family friendly deal because of the price and the large lobster portion. It was delicious and filling.
The food, the people, the service. They ever know how to properly cook my steak 'Pittsburgh". We celebrated my parent's 40th anniversary there & they made a carrot cake especially at my request.
due to Covid-19 that this restaurant had turned into a butcher shop. There prices looked very reasonable so I called to place an order. They were very friendly on the phone and took my order.
We have been going to Tropical Acres since 1969 the year we were married. We have always recieved great service with quality food. The early bird menu is great.
Service was excellent...most staff has been there over 10 years. Piano player was a very nice touch. The food quality was good...everyone in the party enjoyed the evening.
This was the fourth time I have been to this restaurant and I am more impressed each time. Although it was packed for a Saturday night dinner, we only waited in the bar for about 15 minutes.
The seafood platter was excellent! I personally did not like the crab cakes, they seemed a bit overdone and had too many spices in them. Overall great meal!
The place is a riot... back to the 1970's. You can't even call it retro, because it's original! The steaks are great and the waitresses are hilarious..
