ask the person next to you what they're drinking - find something new & easy conversation starter. this place is friendly like a Midwest bar. you can bring over sausages from Rosamund next door
If you love your beer then you're in beer heaven. Absolutely unbelievable! Over forty on tap and you can bring in food from Rosamund next door! Yeah, this might be beer heaven.
Toronado has a great selection of craft beer on tap. We saw 4 Russian Rivers and 4 Moonlights on tap. They also have a massive bottle list. This is one of the world's great beer centric bars!
This bar has an amazing selection of craft beers on tap. Grab a sausage sandwich next door at Rosamunde, bring it over, and chow down with a pint. Read all about my visit on WinstonWanders below!! Read more
Sour beers abound & they let you bring sausages from next door. What more could you ask for? If your 1st thought to my last Q was 'A David Cross doppelganger!' you're in luck cause they had that too
Great place! Great selection of beers. Rowdy and divy, and usually heavy metal playing on the speakers. Sometimes they do themed nights, e.g. barley wine, sour beers, or porters.
LOVE the beer selection. consistently have stuff from Almanac (some of my favorite sour beers) and Russian River (blind pigIPA is my go-to) on rotation. also one of the few places w/ Plinyon tap
Classic beerdive bar. This placed helped make craft beer popular in the 90s & 00s. However, it often stinks like toilets, vomit, & BO. "Sister" bars Horse Brass (OR) & Falling Rock (CO) are nicer.
You must get a table and have a Rosamunde sausage in hand to fully enjoy Toronado. You could drink for days & still not touch everything on this well-priced beer menu.
Unpretentious place to grab beer, eat a sausage from next door, or wings from down the street. Come on an off night or during the day to sit at the bar.
45-plus beer selection (and low prices) at this Lower Haight institution is unbeatable, from rare Belgians to local brews (Russian River, Almanac, Half Moon Bay). Read more
The owners here worship beer. They’ll talk your ear off about the 100-plus beers in the back. It would be overwhelming if it wasn’t so damn genuine. Ask for a local brew and win their attention.
With over 50 microbrewson tap and 100 bottled beers, this is a great stop for an afternoon drink. As seen on Travel Channel’s The Layover with Anthony Bourdain.
Great beer list with ever increasingly douchey patrons. The bartenders still act like assholes but now it feels like it’s just for show to appease the touristas.
One time I came here with my iPad (alone) & a drunk dude behind me began touching my screen; the bartender, without a comment, immediately throws the guy out. I've never felt so respected in my life.
The only things clean here are the beerlines and glassware. Selection is only great if you go once. Go again in a week, same selection. Another week, *maybe* some new stuff. You can do better SF.
With roughly 50 beers on tap, including a handful of hand-pumped options, as well as an extensive bottle list - it's easy to see why the bar has achieved a cult-like status among beer enthusiasts.
Cash only. Bring your taste buds, there's the bottle list on top of the draft board. BYON (bring your own noms) because they don't serve food, but you're welcome to bring in your own.
Beware - if you don’t know beer, just be up front about it. We witnessed two self-proclaimed beer experts get schooled and wimper away with their tails between their legs.
This bar is known for its well-curated beer selection, but it stands out for its lack of pretension. Brave the divey atmosphere and loudmusic to enjoy its hard-to-come-by craft beers. Read more
Congratulations, you've found one of Esquire's Best Bars in America. Go next door for a sausage and tuck into a pint of Pliny the Elder at the bar. You're welcome.
