- 7x7 MagazineOctober 22, 2012Best Dishes Under $10: a slice of New York style pepperoni. They also have incredible Sicilian ricotta and meatball, or California-style quail egg, potato, and guanciale. More: http://bit.ly/TbwLaHUpvoted 4 weeks ago
- Rewan PartiJune 13, 2015Order a Moscow mule with their margherita pizza and meatballs with side of cheesy garlic bread. If you do not want to wait long, try the bar usually a few seats open up quickly!
- Salih AlSubaiOctober 4, 2014I'm really disappointed from the world cup winning margarita!! Toney, should visit Golden Boy Pizza (less than 5 min walk) for a taste; or fly to Luini in Milan to remember how dose margarita tasteUpvoted 1 week ago
- My favorite pizza in SF. Tough to go wrong, unless you're thinking about getting a table around dinner time. There will be a wait. Save yourself some trouble and get a slice next door.
- Nicole RocchioJanuary 10, 2019Tartufo was a good speciality choice option. If you want something more traditional, their margherita is amazing. We also had their New Yorker which I would recommend if you enjoy sausage on pizza.
- Brian StraussOctober 26, 2023This is destination pizza. We had the coal fired pepperoni. Excellent sauce. Fresh cheese. Crispy. Six large slices. Enough for two hungry people. Very good salads. We waited 1:20 on a Sat night.
- HajarAugust 15, 2016Big recommendation had to wait 1:15 but it is worth the food is amazing I ordered rigatoni with spicy tomato sauce, tuna pizza and garlic bread with cheese super delicious
- AmateurConciergeAugust 7, 2023Yea this spot has a lot of great pizzas. Nice sidewalk dining. Tons of diff pizza types (NY, Detroit, Grandma, thin crust etc etc). Need to hit the granny but the classic pie was great. park adjacent
- Cheyenne RayOctober 19, 2017Had the meatballs which were amazing. Incredibly soft and meaty and that sauce is so good. We got the margarita pizza and the white clam with garlic and bacon. A+ all around.
- Jk-Di KovalJune 21, 2023Classic Italian Mortadella E Burrata isn’t Italian even close.~7mm thin crust, pistachio mortadella with mortadella and pistachio are separate-nonsense.Feels like chef’s never been to any part of Italy
- markFebruary 16, 2017Pizza is as good as the reviews suggest. Guy next to me had lasagna that looked fantastic as well. Best part of the place is the variety of preparations for the pizza. They really stay true to origin
- Rebecca MaldonadoJuly 11, 2015Always busy and packed, but surprisingly fast, even the wait time. Delicious pizzas. A must is the giant meatball as well.
- There is a myriad of really good eats that don't involve the pizza. Try a giant meatball with mushrooms, chorizo mussels, burger, or very reasonably priced steaks here for a change of pace.
- Jorge UrrutiaMarch 2, 2013This is simply the best pizza I have ever tried. Incredible taste, thin crust but doesn't break. You can eat it all with your hands. I could never imagine anything as good until I tried it
- Tony CollanderMay 15, 2018Pizza Margherita, the best pizza I’ve ever had. At the time of my visit (Nov 1st 2013) Tony was a 10-time World Pizza Champion. Follow his success here - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Gemignani
- Andrew HarastaMarch 27, 2018Some of the best pizza on the west coast! Cool how the menu is divided by different pizza styles across America. Calzones and appetizers are also incredible. Prepare for a carb coma!
- Valeria GarciaAugust 18, 2017I love it! I recommend the New York pizza if you are in a group of 3-4 people. Also all the salads are amazing. The restaurant it self is pretty cozy and you feel comfortable.
- Michelle GabeMay 3, 2015Skip the line and scoop a seat at the bar. Full menu and you can get one of the 73 world famous pizzas that they make!
- Spencer BrownellJuly 1, 2013"That's How I Roll" = the BEST Manhattan that you've ever had! This is arguably the best pizza place in the USA! My only complaint is that they would not make a "vigin" version of a milkshake.
- ValNovember 23, 2019Has vegan cheese (it’s Daiya cutting board. If you hate regular Daiya you’ll probably be fine with this). Order the Napoletana marinara and add whatever you like. Ask them to use a clean pizza cutter
- Look no further for a gluten free pie. Tony's is the best in the city and I have tried them all. Sweet, substantive crust to support the already amazingly well balanced sauce.
- Eduardo VieroApril 12, 2019The best Margherita pizza you can have outside Napoli. Worth the wait in line.
- xAmirKatzxJune 20, 2021Pizza was amazing. Got the ricotta filled squach flowers as an appetizer which was also great. Server was helpful and very nice. Recommended!
- Slice Pizza BlogAugust 20, 2011Don't miss the Margherita with sausage, made with San Felice flour proofed in Neapolitan wood boxes, bright, pleasantly salty San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte, fresh basil, sea salt, and EVOO. Read more
- Paul NovareseJune 18, 2018Great pies. I felt weird ordering a “New Yorker” in SF but it was fantastic. Great sidewalk seating.
- Antonio BurrowesOctober 26, 2017Loved the margherita pizza!!! And hippie Stromboli!!! Best pizza I have had in SF I actually went twice on my last trip!!!!
- Tara MedeirosSeptember 19, 2016Pretty much lives up to the hype as far as Napoletana-style pizza goes - get a side order of the honey pancetta fries while you wait for your pie to get out of the oven!
- SalvadorSeptember 5, 2015Margherita pizza and the Spaghetti and Meatballs were both delicious. Looking forward to trying more on the menu.
- Wessam JanAugust 24, 2018Had Margarita pizza and Quinoa Salad. The pizza was the best we ever had, the quinoa needed some more salt and lemon juice.
- Maybe the best pizza in the country. If you are in a hurry, go to the slice house right next door. The people are amazing there. And if you are in the mood the sandwiches are just as good as the pizza
- Doug de WetJanuary 20, 2017Comfortable and unpretentious, you can't go wrong with the Margherita with its nicely charred, tender crust. Yum!
- Javier MurilloJune 13, 2013The Margherita Pizza it's a very simple pizza, but taste is amazing, keep it simple and perfect. // La pizza Margherita es muy simple, pero el sabor es impresionante, simple y perfecta.
- Ivo KJune 14, 2015Tried calzone, margarita, and some sicilian style pizzas, all exceptional. Very good cocktails and cool bartenders. A place I visit on every SF trip.
- Bullfrog & BaumSeptember 13, 2011Tony's is famous for it's simple, fresh and tasty pizza. Grab a slice of the famous Margherita pizza, cooked in a 900 degree wood-burning oven, or the award-winning Cal Italia.
- Calin DaianFebruary 15, 2015Some of the best pizzas in town for sure. The fig pizza is delicious, but I suggest splitting it and something else with another person, or else it can be a lite too sweet
- Marcel EOctober 6, 2017We tried the American style pepperoni pizza. It was really good. Would go here first if I ever wanted pizza when in San Francisco.

- Laura MerlinOctober 11, 2017Wow! The tartufo pizza was unbelievable! Best pizza I've had in a while! Lovely service too!
- J JohnJune 3, 2016The neapolitan pizzas they do here are excellent and so are their pastas especially the carbonara. Service is slow, but that's to be expected. Long wait times to get a table are also normal here.
- Abood AbussaudApril 8, 2015Best pizza in town.. Really crowded so plan ahead.. get the Lillet blanc fries for a starter! and a Margherita pizza.. finding parking here is nearly impossible
- Zsolt CsapkayMarch 2, 2020Sweet service, very nice aperol spritz and great Naples style pizza. Also saw people next table having amazing NY style too!
- Daniel StansellApril 24, 2017Tony's is a 12-time world champ at Pizza, and Forbes has called this place the best pizza in the USA. Expect to wait, but the wait is worth it.
- Robert WOctober 2, 2016Sitting at the Chef's bar is worth it both to cut your wait time and to afford you a good view of your pizza being crafted.
- Natalie MJune 1, 2015I knew everyone says this but Tony's honestly does have the most excellent pizza. There's so many different varieties and they are all fantastic. You must try!!
- Zoe WongOctober 18, 2013Seriously the best gluten free pizza I've had! The meatballs and calamari are not gluten free but are delicious!
- Jose PalomaresJuly 13, 2017Tony's is always worth the wait. Tartufo with prosciutto on the side to please the vegetarians, love and taste for all
- Laura RoggJune 9, 2017Awesome pizza selection! We loved the variety of different kinds of pies from all over the world. Also, try the meatballs as an appetizer! They're awesome!
- EstherDecember 17, 2011Don't go without trying the Meatballs. Its sauce is the authentic Mediterranean tomato-olive oil one and it's the Best!! If want to eat more things, order only the small plate of 3 Meatballs. Giants!
