2x2x2 but up it to the beef sausage. Get lemon. Flavored butters. Gives you the best of savory and sweet. If you want to go all sweet, try the chocolate cake french toast!
The best diner in all the land. Service is top-notch, food is great, and condiments are on point (homemade chipotle mayo at every table & cinnamon, apple, and strawberry butter with your pancakes).
2x2x2 specials are the way to go here. Massive and fluffy pancakes served with savory strawberry AND apple cinnamon butter, 2 eggs your choice, plus thick succulent pork sausages. Nuff said.

A Prospect Heights institution that's been around for decades and will probably outlast us all. Come for breakfast and don't be scared off by the line. It moves fast and waiters bring out hot coffee.

Tom's is an unending flow of culinary surprises every time I visit. When they are busy, parties of 4 seem to get seated quicker. Their burgers are simple but hearty and be sure to butter your grits!

I basically always get either a pork sausage omelet with grits or a chili cheese omelet with grits. Both are great.
inna katsMarch 18, 2015Tom's wrap, ask for Chipotle mayo ots. Pickle is legit. Try merlot mixed w/Malibu, seltzer ots (add to taste): like red sangria. No WiFi, owner won't let you charge your phone. Service is perfect. 👍
If you care about diners and breakfast, and highly efficient, delicious experiences you will love Tom's. Don't bring a gang of friends, it's not a big spot. 4 ppl or less -- 2 and you're golden!
