Tom’s original Prospect Heights location is certainly one Brooklyn’s most beloved breakfast spots. The lines can be rough, but free coffee and the promise of ricottapancakes makes it all worthwhile. Read more
2x2x2 but up it to the beef sausage. Get lemon. Flavored butters. Gives you the best of savory and sweet. If you want to go all sweet, try the chocolate cakefrench toast!
The best diner in all the land. Service is top-notch, food is great, and condiments are on point (homemadechipotle mayo at every table & cinnamon, apple, and strawberry butter with your pancakes).
2x2x2 specials are the way to go here. Massive and fluffy pancakes served with savory strawberry AND apple cinnamon butter, 2 eggs your choice, plus thick succulent pork sausages. Nuff said.
A Prospect Heights institution that's been around for decades and will probably outlast us all. Come for breakfast and don't be scared off by the line. It moves fast and waiters bring out hot coffee.
Tourist tip: Awesome little diner nestled in Prospect Heights. Corned beef hash of my childhood and heavenly lemon ricotta pancakes! Solid eats and great service, with a touch of nostalgia.
Tom's is an unending flow of culinary surprises every time I visit. When they are busy, parties of 4 seem to get seated quicker. Their burgers are simple but hearty and be sure to butter your grits!
The bananawalnutpancakes as well as the lemon ricotta pancakes are SUPERB! They also have cinnamon, strawberry, and pumpkin butters there are amazing compliments to the pancakes.
Oh man, pancakes here are SO good. Get the danish or sweet potato pancakes. Or any pancake really. And some milkshake and you're set. The staff is super nice and the vibe is old school. I love Tom's!
Tom's wrap, ask for Chipotle mayo ots. Pickle is legit. Try merlot mixed w/Malibu, seltzer ots (add to taste): like red sangria. No WiFi, owner won't let you charge your phone. Service is perfect. 👍
If you care about diners and breakfast, and highly efficient, delicious experiences you will love Tom's. Don't bring a gang of friends, it's not a big spot. 4 ppl or less -- 2 and you're golden!
It is like a typical American diner that 1 sees in a movie. U.S. Flags everywhere, a cop having his breakfast & yes it is finger-licking-good! The service is good, slightly odd but good. Pancakes!
Don't worry if the line is super long. It moves fast and they bring you treats while you wait! We got a couple of types of cookies and some French fries.
The 2x2x2 (2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon,2 pancakes) is a great deal. Plus you can upgrade pancakes to a flavored variety. Get here before 1pm on weekends to avoid the line
For a traditional pancake experience, we recommend the Lemon Ricotta pancakes at this 70-year-old Prospect Heights establishment. The pancake experience here is combined with a sepia-tinged nostalgia. Read more
Long lines form during prime brunching hours, but the waitstaff will reward your patience with gratis orange slices, sips of coffee, & breakfast meats. Tom's remains a community restaurant at heart.
I love eating breakfast. I especially love eating breakfast HERE. Every now and then you get a little treat like an orange wedge or a cookie handed to you by a server.
You just can't go wrong here. I believe that anyone that goes here walks away very satisfied. Don't skip it. Go over and over again. Tell your friends...they'll thank you for it.
Worth waiting in line. They come out to the waiting line with free coffee, samples if pancakes, beef sausage and more. Ask for Gus and have him tell you the history! Since 1936!
a great place to pair with a trip to the Botanical Gardens or Brooklyn Museum. Line is large on a Saturday, if you can, go on a week day. Pancakes and grits are the highlight here but lots to choose.
The fries are good, but dipping them in this gamechanger (called "Chipotle Sauce," it may be at your table right now; if not, ask) kicks Tom's fries to the next level.
Established 1937, continuously operated. Multiple pancakes for breakfast, including a lemon-ricotta flavor. Try an old fashioned specialty drink, a Lime Rickey. Don't confuse with Tom's from Seinfeld.
Pretty great for a diner. Upon arrival, seems like more of a wait than it really is. About 20 minutes from line to table. Everyone took responsibility for our service. The food came fast and very good
A Brooklyn classic. Don't panic if there's a line - it's worth the wait, and one of the ultra-friendly staff will be by shortly with a plate of cookies, tray of coffee, or juicy chorizo to whet your a
Try the cinnamon butter. .. Food comes out quickly and prices are reasonable. This place is cash only but they do have an ATM. Enjoy, everything my friends and I had was delicious.
heartwarmingly friendly service. the two by two special with lemon ricotta pancakes, over easy eggs and crispysausage left me very happy (and very full).
Awesome diner with great prices. Get the lemon ricotta pancakes or the pumpkinwalnutBelgian waffle. And not enough can be said about the amazing cinnamon butter.
Famous diner in BK. It's filled with crazy decor, there's a massive line to get in on weekends, but they give you coffee and food while you're waiting in line. Get the double battered French Fries!
