A longtime West Chelsea mainstay. Check out the ancient espresso machine. If you want to venture beyond their great croissants, they have a super-rich almond brioche toast, and a nice coffee eclair.
They're open all day, so it's great and no wait to hit for a very late lunch or early dinner. Also, they happily do takeout (as well as hyper-local delivery) and everything on the menu travels well.
We prefer the less formal tap room up front, where the prices are gentler but the food is just as good.
Check out the "In Memory Of" plaques on the backs of all the chairs, which were purchased from a synagogue.
