Great range of beers and a few Jack The Ripper stories to go with them. Shame they took down the name board of the rippers victims as it named 6 people instead of 5 as it is generally told.
Had anniversary dinner upstairs and food is interesting and high quality, service was personal and attentive. Dining room is quirky and has interesting art. Only drawback was some noisy guests.
One of the best pubs in the area for street drinking in the sun, though be prepared to be approached by many of the local characters. Oh, and don't forget to stand inside the chalk line!

In this bar they know everything there is to know about Jack the Ripper! Come find out the names of his victims and enjoy a beer in this bar dating from 1752.
Nice food, but not enough of it. Couple of slices of venision, butternut squash (which was a light mouse), some more vegetables would have been enough to make it.
They've done the place up since I went first. Doesn't have an awful lot of indoor-space but looks nice + you can stand outside to enjoy the life round Spitalfields market. Read more
Food is ridiculously overpriced and unreasonably pretentious. I rarely leave a bad review, but this place deserves the worst of thoughts. I hope they choke on my money. P.s: waiters are really kind.
