Austin ChronicleMarch 23, 2013Built in 1916, the space has housed a grocery, a steak restaurant, and a speakeasy/brothel. These days the Tavern does bustling business with sports fans who enjoy the 50 TV screens and good pub grub.
If you are the kind of person that goes to a bar or restaurant and needs it to be the "best" of something (and "great" is never good enough) then do not come here. Upstairs at The Tavern is a great place to host a private event.
Best place to watch the rangers games. They also have the long horn network. Go long horns!!!
Ordered the jalapeño cream cheese burger. They forgot to put the jalapeño cream cheese on it. I am really confused as to how that would happen.
