Your Saturday afternoons just got way more fun. Starting at 3 p.m. on weekends, this South Village rooftop pool hosts parties open to the public. It’s small, but have you seen the view? Read more
The pool on the roof of the James Hotel in Soho may be small, but it is on the roof and, more importantly, it's open to the public on the summer weekends, as is the rooftop bar. Read more
My mom stays here on her visits and always has an amazing experience. The pool closes so early it's not even worth it- they prioritize private events a little too much IMO. Still our fave though!
Hotel guests are treated like kings and queens during their stay, with warm chocolate-chip cookie deliveries, fantastic skyline views and wine & cheese plates offered during the late-afternoon hours. Read more
Look, the place is stunning, artsy, and central. The staff is accommodating but the guests are NOT the priority, the special events are. If you came for the pool, get this: it shuts down after 2pm.
Starting in May, Serene revives its open-air yoga sessions on the roof deck of the James hotel in Soho. Instructor Brigitte Bourdeau leads each hour-long Thursday class.
Quite a unique boutique hotel, creative, artistic and modern. Nice garden and pool, great bars (Jimmy and Treehouse), amazing restaurant (David Burke's The Kitchen). Yet small rooms, non-noise proof
The place makes you want to order the fennel hay roasted chicken for two with a pair of Genesee cream ales or some bison tartare and rabbit hunter (bourbon, ginger beer, mint, lime) cocktails. Enjoy. Read more
Instead of sacking the mini-bar straight, you get all the matériel you need to make five cocktails: The Marguerita, Old Havana, Blood & Sand, Moscow Mule, and Corpse Reviver 2. Read more
The rooftop pool is more of a water feature, than a utility. 200 people on the rooftop during a 85 degree sunny July afternoon; 0 people in the pool. Why bother? Plank it over and add seating.
Forget the fact that this place was on Conde Naste Traveller magazine's 2011 hotel list – it’s ALL about the bar here. The rooftop bar, Jimmy’s, gives you 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline
The James is vertically bookended by David Burke Kitchen, the basement restaurant, and Jimmy, a rooftop cocktail bar from the team behind the West Village's chic Hotel Griffou.
Great hotel, funky roof bar, happy staff. Building was designed as Condos so not enough lifts, check your bill for random $200 charges from Jimmy's roof bar
David Burke Kitchen has one of the best Mac&Cheeses in Manhattan. They charge extra 5 bucks for the room svc. (except for service charge) The location is ok but I may not come here again.
