possibly the best civil war property/home tour I've ever been on -- and I've been on A LOT of tours. When it was over I wanted to get right back in line and do it again.

Second time to the Carter House. Tour guide, Kristy, was great and very informative. Highly recommend the Battle of Franklin tour.

The ghost of Annie Vick Carter, daughter of the man who built the home in 1830 has been seen running through the upstairs hall and stairway. Over 8,500 men died in single day in battle on this ground

This house and accompanying museum is a Registered Historic Landmark that was turned into a hospital for Confederate soldiers following the Battle of Franklin during the Civil War. Read more
