This place was amazing, such a lovely & quaint little atmosphere. The ambiance, the attention to small details, perfect place to take a date. The atmosphere almost made me put my arm around my friend.
LOVE IT! If you don't look carefully, you'll miss it in a second. Lovely atmosphere, friendly bartenders, delish cocktails! Get the Shirley Temple of Doom! And the Bat-Manhattan, you'll thank me!
Like stepping back in time! Had a delicious meal (chick peapopcorn is awesome; get the duck confitflatbread, too) & cool cocktails. Truly a unique & fun experience - looking forward to coming back!
Been here once. Very good cocktails, great atmosphere and music, server I had was alright, never had food but only hear good things. A little pricey but you do get what you pay for. Deff willbe back.
Be aware that the cocktails are really expensive ($12-14?). Still highly recommended though. You pay for the atmosphere. If you come on a Friday or Saturday night, make a reservation.
They did a wonderful job creating a unique atmosphere through all the details. They offer a lot of drinks you don't see on menus anymore. I'd take my grandfather here if he was still alive.
The drinks are good, but a bit overpriced, especially with the mandatory 25% svce charge. The website promised daily specials to enhance a limited (but good) menu, but there were no menu additions.
This is the greatest bar on the planet. Be here when Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society play hot jazz all night. Beer list is the most exclusive I have ever seen.
Yes, great concept & atmosphere. But, food was terrible. Crab cakes were bread patties flavored with a touch of crab. Blackened Chicken was rubbery and hot, but lacked flavor. Stick with appetizers.
Bruschetta~ bad store bought crumbled goat cheese. Fig toasts- huge chunks of fig overpowering. Cool atmosphere but loud and horrible food. The Martinez cocktail was meh.
Super cute fun spot with a great cocktail list. Food is ok but not mindblowing. The bartenders could dial it down on the personality/dog and pony show a bit though.
Unfortunately this place seems to have changed owners and staff. The food is no longer good and the drinks went from awesome to bland. The only thing they have going for them is the ambiance.
Step back in time at The Bookstore Speakeasy: a 1920's style speakeasy. Featuring prohibition-era cocktails, craft beers, and beautifully crafted American cuisine. Live 20's and 30's jazz music is performed on several nights throughout the week in our intimate candle and oil lamp lit room.
