One of my hobbies as I travel is to see MLB games in new cities and soak in some of the local Baseball culture. Here's the stadiums that I've taken in over the years.
Baseball Stadium · The Stadiums · 443 tips and reviews
Cracken .: One of the nicest and one of my favorites. Enjoy the crab cakes, natty boh's, and seventh inning stretch renditions of "Thank God I'm a Country Boy!"
4 Jersey St (btwn Lansdowne St & Van Ness St), Boston, MA
Baseball Stadium · Fenway - Kenmore - Audubon Circle - Longwood · 740 tips and reviews
Cracken .: I once saw a seventh inning stretch performance of "New York, New York" here. I also missed a guy hit a grand slam cuz I was drunk and in the bathroom pissing. This place is not optional.
Baseball Stadium · Central Business District · 227 tips and reviews
Cracken .: I like that this park was downtown but was surprised by the dearth of quality bars surrounding it. Hopefully this has changed since then. Enjoy the local BBQ from Montgomery Inn & Skyline Chili Dogs.
Baseball Stadium · Downtown Detroit · 360 tips and reviews
Cracken .: This park struck me as an amusement park for white families from the suburbs while inner city blacks worked the concession stands. It was also strange to see a modern park in crumbling Detroit.
College Baseball Diamond · Camelback East · 18 tips and reviews
Cracken .: The Oakland A's are my favorite team. I saw them here for Spring Training. To make the team feel at home, this stadium is intentionally on the scuzziest street in Phoenix. Lots of great A's fans too.
1000 Vin Scully Ave (at Stadium Way), Los Angeles, CA
Baseball Stadium · Chavez Ravine · 581 tips and reviews
Cracken .: AKA Cesar Chavez Ravine. Kind of surprised they don't have guys serving beer in the aisles, you actually have to get out of your seat and go get one yourself. Probably because the fans are unruly/fun!
2000 E Gene Autry Way (at State College Blvd), Anaheim, CA
Baseball Stadium · Platinum Triangle · 279 tips and reviews
Cracken .: Probably one of the blandest stadiums I've been to. Can't think of much that distinguishes it from others. And they have no beer guys as well. Go to Dodger Stadium instead.
1500 S Capitol St SE (btwn N St SE & Potomac Ave SE), Washington, D.C.
Baseball Stadium · Navy Yard · 475 tips and reviews
Cracken .: Its easy to get to this stadium from the Subway, its nice new park with plenty to do around it, and be sure to enjoy a beer and a chili dog from Ben's Chili Bowl, a DC institution.
