I am selfish about my home airport but it was recently voted as the top North American airport. Check out the Stone Arch near the entrance to the F Concourse. Try the meatloaf!
There is a 1 mile walk without needing to back track. Starting at "C" Gate, walk to the stair which take through the "G" gate area, around to the mall area of the terminal and your starting point.
Use checkpoint 6 all the way to your left past the Delta checkin areas. It will definitely save time. To save even more time, use the far left entrance to the checkpoint, the expert traveler lane.
Here's a tip to the gal in the orangejacket: don't be a douche to the TSA agents when they take your huge shampoo bottle. You delay people who plan ahead. Thank you.
This is a 1.4 mile marked trail inside MSP's Terminal 1. Marked by green dots on many overhead signs you can keep up with mileage you've walked. And it's easy to start at any point.
The airport IS huge - go to French Meadow Bakery for grub AND a martini. But get to your gate before you do anything else. It might be at the other end of the earth!
One of the nicer airports around the country; they are trying to be the best. Now if only they could make security a little easier and less stressful...
If you're taking light rail to the airport, have already checked in, and aren't checking a bag, go up 4 stories to the concourse level to the security checkpoint there.
