The third generation of Tamale House founder Carmen Vasquez runs this Eastside spot, which boasts more seating and a hipper vibe. The migas with cheese is a surefire hangover cure.

When Bobby Vasquez passed away, Austin lost one of its greats as well as the phenomenal Tamale House #3. But his nieces and nephews have opened this spot, and the tamales are just as crave-able. Read more

Great breakfast tacos, like the spicy chipotle migas (add bacon). Cute garden seating. Tasty tamales as you’d expect for dinner too. Plenty of parking.

Delicious breakfast tacos. And the Mexican iced coffee... I usually order 2 like it's one each for my boyfriend and me, but really they are both for me. So good.

This spot is tucked on a patio between what used to be Graze and some railroad tracks and offers the same famous $1.25 breakfast tacos. Read more

One of the best bets for breakfast and lunch on East 6th, the restaurant also regularly hosts innovative pop-up dinners. [Eater 38 Member]

Super hipster, super awesome. Two breakfast tacos for under $5 is unbeatable. To drink, get a chicha morada - super refreshing and a great start to your day!

Definitely the best tamales I've had. The chicken tamales were especially good - make sure to get them with the green chile sauce.

My favorites are the guacamole chalupa and the chicken mole tacos! Everything is good here though and the service is phenomenal. They are long time east siders too!

Updated menu and price increase with $9 chilaquiles and tacos up to $5. Ambience is no longer worth the crazy prices.

Tamales were terrible little meat and full of very salty masa which I couldn’t even eat. Chips and queso cheese had grainy texture. Guac tasted like crayons. (Check google reviews)
