If you need an inexpensivelunch or just an amazing pitasandwich, Taboonette's got ya covered. Their pitasandwich version of shakshuka (eggs and tomato sauce) is deeply flavorful and satisfying.
The "American" baconegg and cheese breakfast sandwich is a great Mediterranean alternative to the classic. It's on pita, has grilled eggplant, and hot sauce. Also, $6 🙏. Good veggie options, too.
The Lamb Shawarma here is simply the best that I've tried in NYC. The Chicken Shawarma was not as good. Their prices are not cheap: $10 for Chicken Pita & $11 for LambPita. Free WiFi PW: internet.
Yummy vegetarian options. Try the Kruveet platter with roasted cauliflower and eggplant over rice or quinoa with hummus on the side. Ask for hot sauce!
I've always wanted someone to put shakshuka -- poached egg with spiced tomatoes, tahini, and cilantro -- into a pita to save me the effort of all that dipping. Taboonette has that breakfast sandwich.
This fast casual offshoot of Taboon specializes in "Middleterranean Pocket Food," the confluence of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern foods served in pita. That even means shakshuka in a pita, too. Read more
This place is wonderful. Cozy, friendly, affordable and always delicious! Get the salmoneggpita. The pita is out of this world- as fluffy as can be. Even the arugula side salad is perfect!!
I got the super flavorful lamb kabob over salad with a side of corn. I love how these lamb meatballs don't have any fillers other than spices and veggies.
This place rocks! You can't go wrong with almost any choice of food. My favorite is the chicken Schwarma platter with yellow rice, hummus and Israeli salad.
Chicken scharwma is better than the chicken and rice and if you eat in you get home madechips on the side! Ask for extra green sauce, it's spicy and pairs well with the sandwich!
The menu is not big, but the food is really good! Is is a small place, very few places to sit down. Waiter would help you choose if it's the first time you hear the food names :)
Love it, pita tastes better than most other places, but they also charge a little more and it's always packed. Get a punch card and get your 10th pita free
The slow-roasted pulled pork is arguably the best deal in the house. The meat’s deep flavor is complemented by an apple slaw, and garnished with chipotle mayo, crunchy fried pork skin and cilantro. Read more
Excellent fast casual Greek/Mediterranean. Salmonrice plate was excellent! I'll be back. Cool vibe with cozy community style tables. (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
Quick Lunch! Pulled pork in pita bread and beer to brake your working day between meetings and creativity :) btw I haven't seen 'spend my day in meetings' crowd
Really delicious falafel! My only gripe is that they charge you for additional tahini. 1st time I've ever seen this & I've had falafel all over the world.
