Lovely bakery, with great éclairs (filled with flavoured cream) and macarons. Not as pretentious as some of the other bakeries, they're happy to serve!
chausson aux pommes (French apple turnover) is just amazing with light crisp buttery puff filled with well balanced apple sauce. Combination is perfect..
Est. 1725. Oldest Patisserie in Paris. Invented ali- babacake in 1725, adapting a bun King Stanislas of Poland had brought from a trip, and the baba au rhum (rum baba) in 1830 by adding rum to it.
For when you'd prefer to chew your rum instead of throwing it back as quickly as possible, get pastry-wasted on the Rum Baba (baba au rhum). This is apparently where it originated!
if a bakery has been around since the 1730s, it's probably doing something right. coffeeeclairs = perfectly piped cloud of choux gives way to an insanely rich coffee-toned cream & icing.
