Those public park “donated by” signs get me bawling each and every time. “Ronald McDonald House” is all I need to see before I get the ugly about to cry face. This park is truly magnificent.
Bring sushi, a picnic blanket, paper umbrellas and watercolors with the kids, let them paint what they see, as you sample saki from your flask.
They have pod chairs and puppets. This place is truly fantastic for kids.
Sloan's Ice Cream Shop, outdoor gazebos. It's outdoor shopping, but the kids like the change of pace. Plus, there's a cheese shop for fondue or grilled cheese sandwiches, etc.
It’s bad business including the word “Gumbo” in the name of a crustacean paradise that’s *not* a restaurant. Wind through a decked trail and meet stingrays and learn about the life cycle of frogs
Entry into this palace is only ONE DOLLAR, and kids can play all day. Best to go on sunny days. It's empty then!
The indoor part of Sugar Sand Park, free to all, just suggested donations. Hands On children's museum with rockets, trains, and hot air balloons.

Kids wear life vests and get free earplugs for the airboat ride. Go see the gators... you'll find them where the birds are.
Amazing deal on babysitting and classes. Open gym on Friday & Saturday nights is only an extra $20/month, Fridays 5:30 - 9:30pm, Sat 6:30pm -10pm, includes pizza and Carvel PLUS a class during week.
INEXPENSIVE babysitting while you're at the movies ($9 for 4 hours!). Kids are given popcorn and lemonade and will beg to go back. All staff is trained in CPR, etc.
