- Mason WongMarch 5, 2017Fantastic smoked spareribs - by themselves, well worth going. Other BBQ items were very good, but just shy of great. Making BBQ is a bit more art than science, so still happy to strongly recommend.Upvoted 1 week ago
- Konstantin KamaninJuly 2, 2017Very good place. Service is quick and careful. Angus beef brisket is super-tender, extremely tasty and absolutely delicious. "Wolf's turd" is an opposite to its name :) and very good too. Must visit!
- Yuri SagastumeFebruary 28, 2013The food here is very good, I happened to have the pull pork Sammie it was really good combined with the habanero sauce and the cole slaw on the side, my friend had the Mac n cheese and it was great
- _June 15, 2014Fatty beef brisket, chicken, BBQ ribs, Mac and cheese, and the corn bread are a must try for your first time. Pass on the pulled pork - too dry. Remember to use the sauces on the table!
- Tom McGhanFebruary 20, 2012You know this place is legit from the smell, but the super-friendly owner, killer sauce, bombin' brisket, and solid ribs are what put it over the top. That, and they add bacon to every side dish... :)
- There was brisket in the mac & cheese, enough said. The brisket was awesome, pull pork was great and the place was packed. Definitely a must visit BBQ joint in San Jose.
- Mark BrouchJune 9, 2016Great brisket, mac and cheese, beer, and sauce. I liked the blues music playing too, pairs well with bbq. Try the Wolf Turds!
- Tom PenikasMay 22The ribs are big meaty, and tasty. The sides are nothing to write home about. Mac & Cheese, bbq beans & side salad that was loaded with cilantro (which can ruin the salad if you don’t like it).
- Matt CrawfordJune 13, 2013A nice review and notes on wolf turds, chicken lollipops and the three-meat combo from SanJose.com http://www.sanjose.com/restaurants/articles/2013/06/12/bbq_at_the_the_smoking_pig
- I always bring out of towers here. The best brisket in California. Ribs are meh. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays. Great beer menu.
- Nothing fancy. Authentic pit BBQ. I've had spicier hot links. Brisket is offered lean or fatty. Impressive selection of wine and beer.
- Kyo SongFebruary 7, 2016Try the wolf turds, be warned, they pack a punch. Food is great, service is very friendly
- Craig OSeptember 6, 2016Excellent BBQ, when ordering the brisket order half and half, fatty and non fatty, gives you the perfect balance.
- Marcus OwensDecember 6, 2014The chicken salad is GREAT. Small is enough for two, and ALWAYS mix the sassy and Spicy BBQ sauces for the Brisket. Mmmmm
- Sean RobertsNovember 11, 2015Spare ribs are excellent & huge. Brisket rocks! Yummy corn bread. Greens are "okay". Skip the pulled pork, it's dry and flavorless.
- Ludi ChowFebruary 24, 2014In order of deliciousness, brisket is definitely #1, the ribs are #2, and the pulled pork is #3.
- Justin DavidsonNovember 26, 2016Don't fool yourself, you want to go "healthy" and get the lean brisket, but just do yourself a favor and get the fatty.
- Eric SabbanApril 8, 2017Disgusting amount of meat (in a good way.) If you find yourself in San Jose and you want BBQ, you could do a lot worse. 🍖🍴😮
- David ArnoldMay 31, 2013This Mac and Cheese is exceptional. Cheesy and with little bits of meat. Perfection.
- Kara SmithSeptember 5, 2013Fatty Brisket is the must have! Top it with their Kansas city hot bbq sauce.
- Dave MasonMay 14, 2015Great BBQ in San Jose? Yes it is true. Try the burnt ends. They area favorite.
- Marc VermutSeptember 2, 2016Good sauce, great environment. Brisket was a little dry and thin cut. Ribs were smoked just right.
- Jamie BelskyOctober 17, 2014Great brisket sandwich but on top of it all: bacon in the macaroni and cheese! You read that right.
- Adam SchofieldAugust 30, 2015Burnt ends are tasty! Brisket is pretty good. Oddly named, but wolf turds are a must try.
- LisaJune 19, 2012Skip the pulled pork and the ribs, get those moist briskets! Also try the wolf turds, corn bread, and the mac n cheese!
- Fatty Brisket and the mac and cheese side has more brisket in it! Wolf turds if you're adventurous.
- Mark SmalleyDecember 6, 2012Great food but a wee bit cold. However, the Mac n Cheese and Peanut Butter Cream Pie Cake are as exceptional as the service :-)
- fran hylinskiJanuary 14, 2013Great food try the peanut butter pie, and don't forget they have live music I think on Thursday nights
- jojo cMay 30, 2012Chicken leg quarter and pulled pork!! Ribs are pretty good; brisket tender but disappointing flavor. Must order Mac & cheese too!
- Bryce GalenJuly 16, 2012Best BBQ in the bay area. They ask you if you want fatty, lean, or mixed. The lean is plenty flavorful in my opinion.
- Maura BurnsOctober 7, 2013The brisket is amazing and when combined with the Carolina Sassy BBQ sauce, it's sublime.
- Anna JamesDecember 9, 2013Loved the pork ribs, very tasty. Would have liked if the beef brisket was served warm.
- Matthew Dean FurloJanuary 31, 2013The southern greens are great! And if you like it hot, ask for the ghost chili sauce.
- Pat AlbertJune 9, 2018I’m not a fan. The food was pretty disappointing, especially the ribs. Maybe I’m a bit spoiled, coming from the Midwest. It certainly doesn’t make up for it in atmosphere either.
- Cheryl ❤️ MarquezMarch 30, 2012Try the 3 Meat Combo - Definitely coming back for the fatty brisket #omnomnom Ribs are OK.
- Try the 2 Meat Combo - Collard greens are great. Fatty brisket, so good...
