Fantastic smoked spareribs - by themselves, well worth going. Other BBQ items were very good, but just shy of great. Making BBQ is a bit more art than science, so still happy to strongly recommend.
Very good place. Service is quick and careful. Angus beef brisket is super-tender, extremely tasty and absolutely delicious. "Wolf's turd" is an opposite to its name :) and very good too. Must visit!
The food here is very good, I happened to have the pull pork Sammie it was really good combined with the habanero sauce and the cole slaw on the side, my friend had the Mac n cheese and it was great
Fatty beef brisket, chicken, BBQ ribs, Mac and cheese, and the corn bread are a must try for your first time. Pass on the pulled pork - too dry. Remember to use the sauces on the table!
You know this place is legit from the smell, but the super-friendly owner, killer sauce, bombin' brisket, and solid ribs are what put it over the top. That, and they add bacon to every side dish... :)
There was brisket in the mac & cheese, enough said. The brisket was awesome, pull pork was great and the place was packed. Definitely a must visit BBQ joint in San Jose.
The ribs are big meaty, and tasty. The sides are nothing to write home about. Mac & Cheese, bbq beans & side salad that was loaded with cilantro (which can ruin the salad if you don’t like it).
A nice review and notes on wolf turds, chicken lollipops and the three-meat combo from SanJose.com http://www.sanjose.com/restaurants/articles/2013/06/12/bbq_at_the_the_smoking_pig
I’m not a fan. The food was pretty disappointing, especially the ribs. Maybe I’m a bit spoiled, coming from the Midwest. It certainly doesn’t make up for it in atmosphere either.
