Jake V: The Paramount originally opened September 14, 1929, designed for stage theatre and first-run movies. It's one of 4 atmospheric theaters in MN and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Jake V: In June 1857, a committee of Catholic residents was formed to establish the Catholic Church in Austin. The first Mass was celebrated in this section of Minnesota Territory on November 2, 1857.
Jake V: The HHH is home of Hormel founder George A. Hormel, now restored to early 1900s splendor and open for tours and events. Offers a banquet hall seating 200, private meeting space and a beautiful garden.
Jake V: You will be treated to a video presentation of "SPAM a Love Story". The tour of the museum takes about 1.5 hours. Hours are Mon.-Sat. 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, and 12 noon-5pm on Sundays.
Jake V: The town was originally settled along the Cedar River and it has two man-made lakes called East Side Lake and Mill pond. Connects to bike and walking trails.
Jake V: The library serves the Mower County area of approximately 30,000 residents. The library is a member of SELCO which provides library services to public and school libraries in the SE Minnesota region.

Jake V: Rydjor Bike Shop opened its doors in July 1973 at the original Concrete Units office. Dan Ulwelling and Pat Geraghty formed a partnership to capitalize on the "bicycle boom" of the early 1970s.
Jake V: The history of Austin is preserved in more than 20 individual facilities located on the Historical Society Fair grounds. Artifacts and other historical items are displayed in the Hormel Museum.

Jake V: The structure was originally built in the late 1850’s by 2 brothers from Lancshire England. In 1949 it became a restaurant using the old framework and beams while preserving the twin hand hew posts.

Jake V: This is the place to be during the 4th of July Parade. The community band plays live music in sync with the FIREWORKS! It's a great community park with connecting bike and walking trails.
