Free for SF residents but paid admission for everyone else, so it's one of the nicest uncrowded secret spots in Golden Gate Park. Great for picnics, dates and meditating.
For an especially zen break, check out the Japanese-inspired Moon ViewingGarden, located in the mild-temperate climate section of the garden’s northwest corner. Read more
beautiful, well-maintained garden with tons of variety! the redwood grove was amazing. I saw a ton of plants and flowers here that I'd never seen before.
Come here during Flower Piano and bring your favorite libations. Sipping whiskey from a flask while listening to beautifully played piano is wonderful.
Love that it’s free for SF residents (bring a utilities bill if you don’t have a CA driver’s license). In July, be sure to check out Flower Piano, where there’s pianos all around the park :)
I love this garden. It's my second one now since the Mendocino Coast Gardens and I love it, I don't think they have quite the same verity but I'd defiantly come back and plan on it!
A secret getaway. Bamboos. Flowers. Beautiful flowers. Scents. Sun. Reading books while lying on the grass. If you're interested in any of that, you should go! Free for SF residents :)
The Botanical Garden at Golden Gate Park is a great place to spend the afternoon with your parents. It is so beautiful and peaceful that you forget you're in the middle of a busy city.
It is SO beautiful here! I originally came here at the suggestion of my acting teacher, and I absolutely fell in love with this place. I need to come back when the seasons change.
Great park/garden, shame about the $8 fee... We went on a sunny saturday afternoon in October and there were probably not more than 10 people in the entire park.
