The BEST pizza in New Jersey, hands-down. I consider myself a "pizza enthusiast" and this place has everyone beat by a mile. They still use the same brick oven they've used for a hundred plus years!
You have to be an idiot to drive by this place and not get a pie! No slices, but they do have Pepperoni and Sausage Rolls to go. Real Italian Semolina and an aroma to linger.
This is a unique pizzeria. I was lucky enough to meet Al during my visit and he was a great guy. I recommend a plain pie, light on the sauce. The crust is thin, crunchy and delicious. Ca$h ONLY!
If you're standing at Santillo's counter, you may have noticed there is no dining room. No worries. Owner Al Santillo can point you to a nearby bar that will allow you to eat your pizza there.
Don't order on busy days or peak hours. They say half hour till deliver, expect more like two hours and the pie will be burnt. Don't expect any refunds or discounts.
Great tasting pizza, but at a high cost $14 for Reg, and $4 each topping. I would get more simply for taste, but that guy Al has a nasty attitude, and is unprofessional; and they except cash only...
